Abstract

Biomass power plants (PLTBm) can be obtained from oil and rubber residues like developed on Nias Island. Biomass is a suitable power plant connected to a medium voltage system. PLTBm can be a private power plant that changes power flow on the network. As a result, the price of electricity is different for each consumer. In the future, consumers can choose to subscribe electricity from certain plants that are profitable in terms of price and power quality. A method is needed to find out the power flow from a generator to several load, as well as power extracted from some generator to a load. In this Final Project, an analysis of the power flow tracing of the biomass power plant using modified IEEE 30 bus plant. Biomass power plant data was obtained from the real plant on Nias Island which was modeled with generator. Then connected to the modified IEEE 30 bus system. In the IEEE 30 bus system there are high voltage bus, so it needs to be modified into a medium voltage. With the power flow tracing, it can be seen that the power flow from several plants to several loads and losses that occur. Based on the results of the analysis, the price of biomass power plant from rubber is IDR 982 / kWh and from palm oil is IDR 1.832 / kWh. The price of electricity from the grid is IDR 1.561 / kWh at load peak time and IDR 1.1115 / kWh at outside of load peak time. The selling price of electricity is determined by the percentage of the contribution of each power plant multiplied by the price per kWh. The greater the value of losses, the selling price of electricity charged to consumers is also increasingly expensive.
