Abstract
============================================================================================================================
The photocatalytic reactor to degrade liquid waste in the textile industy has several types of one from the cascade photoreactor, but this reactor is not equipped with a degradation level measuring instrument for textile substances. Reasearch related to the design of photocatalytic reactor has been carried out with the aim of designing a photocatalytic reactor that measures photodegradation in realtime, knowing the optimal concentration of TiO2 in the degradation of Methylene Blue (MB) and comparing the result of MB degradation with catalyst and without catalyst. In this study, a photodiode sensor was used to measure the photodegradation of textile dyes directly to the reactor. The treatment variations in the form of a control reactor (without catalyst) and reactor with catalysts of 2 ± 0,005 gr, 3 ± 0,005 gr, and 4 ± 0,005 gr were deposited on a glass substrate with vernis. photodegradation testing was carried out using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer and photodegradation sensor. From this research, its can be seen that the photocatalytic reactor equipment with a degradation level in realtime can run well. The decrease in absorbance value of Methylene Blue in control reactor, TiO2 catalyst reactor 2 ± 0,005 gr, 3 ± 0,005 gr, and 4 ± 0,005 gr respectively were 4,84% ± 0,0005, 61,8% ± 0,0005, 89,8% ± 0,0005 and 76,1% ± 0,0005.
