Abstract

Pengukuran pH sangatlah penting dalam dunia medis, industri, maupun penelitian. Tiap – tiap bidang, membutuhkan alat ukur dengan sensitivitas yang berbeda – beda. Pengukuran pH merupakan pengukuran ion Hidrogen dalam suatu larutan. Larutan dengan nilai pH rendah dinamakan “asam” sedangkan yang harga pH-nya tinggi dinamakan “basa”. Skala pH terentang dari 0 (asam kuat) sampai 14 (basa kuat) dengan 7 adalah harga tengah mewakili air murni (netral). Pada penelitian ini bagian cladding fiber optik dikupas dan dilapisi dengan PANI-PVA. Pengukuran larutan dilakukan pada pH=2 sampai pH=10. Pembuatan larutan dengan larutan pH up dan pH down diukur dengan pH meter sebagai indikator. Dilakukan pengujian padalarutan yang memiliki pH=2 sampai dengan pH=10. Variasi bending d=2,5 cm, d=2 cm dan d=1,5 cm. Hasil penelitian didapatkan fiber hasil fabrikasi dengan cladding PANI-PVA dapat digunakan pada rentang pH=2 sampai dengan pH=10semakin besar nilai pH semakin kecil intensitas keluaran. ==================================================================================================================================
pH measurement is very important in the medical, industrial and research world. Every fields, require a measuring instrument with different sensitivity. pH measurement means measure hydrogen ions in a solution. Solutions with a low pH value are called "acids" while those with high pH value are called "bases". The pH scale ranges from 0 (strong acid) to 14 (strong base) with 7 being the middle price representing pure water (neutral). In this research the cladding on the optical fiber is peeled and coated with PANI-PVA. The measurement of the solution consisted of a solution containing pH = 2 to pH = 10. The process of making the solution is helped by pH up and pH down solution. Then the laser intensity is tested against solutions that have pH = 2 to pH = 10 by using bending variations d=2,5 cm, d=2 cm and d=1,5 cm. From the results of the study, it was found that the fabricated fiber with PANI-PVA cladding can be used in the pH range = 2 to pH = 10. Where the greater the pH value of a solution means the smaller the intensity of the output obtained.
