Abstract

PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang foundry, engineering procurement construction (EPC), dan manufacture. Salah satu produk dari perusahaan ini adalah bogie. Namun dalam perjalanannya dalam memperoleh kualitas yang baik tidaklah mudah dan mengalami berbagai masalah. Salah satu masalah yang sedang dihadapi oleh perusahaan ini adalah produk defect. Produk defect memberikan dampak kerugian bagi perusahaan yaitu penambahan biaya akibat repair dan lead time semakin lama. Tujuan penelitian tugas akhir ini difokuskan pada reduksi defect dengan mencari sumber penyebab terjadinya defect dan keterkaitan dengan waste lainya menggunakan metode waste relation matrix. Metode lean six sigma ini disusun berdasarkan metodologi penyelesaian masalah DMAIC , yang merupakan singkatan dari Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve dan Control. Waste yang teridentifikasi pada tahap define adalah defect, waiting, overprocessing, inventory dan motion. Sedangkan pada tahap measure didapatkan nilai sigma perusahaan adalah 3,43 dan juga kerugian biaya yang diakibatkan oleh setiap jenis waste sangat tinggi. Selanjutnya pada tahap analyze dilakukan analisis untuk mencari penyebab permasalahan waste yang telah teridentifikasi menggunakan metode 5 Whys. Pada tahap improve dilakukan pembuatan alternatif perbaikan sesuai dengan akar permasalahan dengan menggunakan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Pemilihan alternatif perbaikan dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis pareto sehingga didapatkan 3 jenis alternatif perbaikan.

PT. X is a company engaged in the foundry, engineering procurement construction (EPC), and manufacture. One product of this company is bogie. But in its journey to obtain good quality it is not easy and experiences various problems. One of the problems faced by this company is defect products. Product defects have a detrimental effect on the company, namely the addition of costs due to repair and lead time is getting longer. The purpose of this thesis research is focused on reducing defects by finding the source of the cause of the defect and the relationship with other waste using the waste relation matrix method. This lean six sigma method is based on the DMAIC problem-solving methodology, which stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Waste identified in the define phase defects, waiting, overprocessing, inventory and motion. Whereas in the measuring stage, the company sigma value is 3.43 and also the cost loss caused by each type of waste is very high. Furthermore, in the analyze stage, an analysis is performed to find out the causes of waste problems that have been identified using the 5 Whys method. In the improve phase, an improvement alternative is made according to the root of the problem using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The selection of repair alternatives is done by using Pareto analysis so that there are 3 types of alternative improvements.
