Abstract

Serasah daun sebagai komponen utama dalam produtivitas primer mangrove merupakan sumber karbon penting dalam proses dekomposisi, yang mana merupakan proses yang sangat kompleks dan berkaitan erat dengan beberapa faktor lingkungan seperti pH, suhu, oksigen terlarut, tipe substrat dan salinitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan membandingkan laju dekomposisi seresah daun Sonneratia alba dan Rhizophora spp. serta mengetahui korelasi antara lokasi dan faktor lingkungan terhadap laju dekomposisi daun S. alba dan Rhizophora spp. di hutan mangrove Banyuglugur Kabupaten Situbondo. Pengamatan dilakukan melalui pengukuran penurunan berat seresah daun yang letakkan in-situ selama 60 hari dengan interval waktu 15 hari sekali (0, 15, 30, 45, dan 60 hari) dengan tiga kali replikasi. Perbedaan laju dekomposisi seresah berdasarkan spesies dan lokasi dianalisis secara statistik dengan uji Anova one-way dan uji Anova two-way. Uji korelasi Pearson dilakukan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara laju dekomposisi dan faktor lingkungan. Ketiga uji statistik dilakukan pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yang didasarkan oleh hasil analisis anova two-way menyatakan tidak ada perbedaan laju dekomposisi antara spesies S. alba dan Rhizophora spp, namun ada perbedaan laju dekomposisi antara lokasi BB dengan lokasi BT. Sedangkan untuk korelasi antara laju dekomposisi dengan faktor lingkungan hanya salinitas di lokasi BT yang memiliki nilai signifikansi > 0,05 dan berkorelasi sangat kuat (-0,742; p:0,05%).

Leaf litter as the major component in the primary productivity of mangroves is an important carbon source in the decomposition process. Decomposition is a very complex process and correlated closely with environmental variables such as alkalinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, type of substratum and salinity. This study aimed to determine and compare the leaf litter decomposition rate of Sonneratia alba and Rhizophora spp.; and to address the correlation between location and environmental factors on the decomposition rate in the mangrove forest of Banyuglugur, Situbondo. Decomposition rate represented as value of weight decrement of leaf litter after 60 days; with observation intervals are 15 days (sampling will be conducted at day 15, 30, 45 and 60) with three times replications. Difference on decomposition rate among species and locations will be analyzed by one-way Anova and two-way Anova; meanwhile, Pearson correlation will be performed to address the correlation between decomposition rate and environmental variables. All statistical test at a 95% confidence level. The conclusions from the study based on the results of two-way Anova analysis revealed that there was no difference in decomposition rates between Sonneratia alba species and Rhizophora spp, but there were differences in rates decomposition between BB locations and BT locations. The only environmental factor that strongly correlates to decomposition rate was salinity (-0,742; p: 0,05%).
