Abstract

Identifikasi biomarka alifatik dan aromatik pada sampel Coal Bed Methane (CBM-6) Muara Enim dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik geokimia organiknya. Analisa biomarka dilakukan melalui metode ekstraksi dan fraksinasi, serta identifikasi struktur senyawa menggunakan metode Kromatografi Gas-Spektroskopi Massa (KG-SM). Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan dominasi n-alkana karbon ganjil terhadap genap, nilai MPI3 (0,78) dan kelimpahan 17α(H),21β(H)-homohopana dengan konfigurasi 22R yang lebih tinggi dari 22S mengindikasikan kematangan rendah dari sampel. Rendahnya kematangan sampel menginformasikan gas metana dalam batubara (CBM-6) terbentuk melalui siklus karbon pendek pada tahap diagenesis. Hasil plot Pr/n-C17 (5,34) terhadap Ph/n-C18 (0,55), kelimpahan kelompok senyawa pentasiklik triterpenoid, rasio Pr/Ph (8,08), serta senyawa 1,2,5- dan 1,2,7-TMN mengindikasikan dominasi input tumbuhan terestrial serta lingkungan pengendapan darat yang bersifat oksik. Dominasi tumbuhan Angiospermae dengan kandungan vitrinit tinggi menunjukkan CBM-6 sebagai kerogen tipe III yang cenderung menghasilkan gas (gas-prone).

Identification of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon biomarkers in Muara Enim’s Coal Bed Methane (CBM-6) samples were carried out to determine its organic geochemical characteristc. Biomarker analysis was done through extraction and fractionation methods, while identification structures using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) instrument. Odd-to-even carbon number pre dominance of n-alkanes, MPI3 value (0,78) and the high abundance of 17α(H),21β(H)-homohopane with 22R over 22S configuration indicate low maturity of the sample and methane formation through short carbon cycle in diagenetic process. The results of Pr/n-C17 (5,34) plot against Ph/n-C18 (0,55), the abundance of the triterpenoid pentacyclic group, the Pr/Ph ratio (8,08), the abundance of 1,2,5- dan 1,2,7-TMN indicate terrestrial plant input and oxic depositional environment. Terrestrial dominance and the high vitrinite content in CBM-6 grouped the samples into kerogen type III (gas-prone).
