Abstract
Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir industri makanan-minuman di Indonesia semakin berkembang seperti yang dikatakan Menteri Perindustrian, Airlangga Hartarto. Pada tahun 2017 pertumbuhannya mencapai 9,23% sehingga dapat menyumbang kontribusi ke PBD sebesar 34,95%. Gaya hidup masyarakat yang berubah adalah faktor terbesar dalam pertumbuhan industri makanan-minuman sekarang. Kementrian Perindustrian Republik Indonesia (KEMENPERIN) menegaskan bahwa potensi dan peluang ini harus dimanfaatkan secara optimal. “Bu Rudy” adalah salah satu tempat wisata kuliner dan pusat oleh-oleh yang memiliki daya tarik tinggi di Surabaya. Rumah makan ini tergolong sebagai family restaurant sehingga mayoritas pengunjungnya datang bersama anggota keluarga. Tidak ada kata sepi dalam rumah makan ini dan pada waktu tertentu selalu padat pengunjung. Dari hasil penelitian didapat bahwa rumah makan Bu Rudy memerlukan perhatian khusus pada desain interiornya. Masalah utama yang muncul berangkat dari kehigienisan rumah makan dan antropometri pada elemen interior. Dari segi estetika juga masih belum diperhatikan secara matang. Sebagai solusinya, dapat dilakukan perancangan pada lahan baru dengan menggunakan langgam kontemporer budaya agar dapat memberikan kenyamanan kepada pengguna rumah makan sekaligus merepresentasikan budaya Surabaya secara apik sehingga dapat menunjang potensi rumah makan Bu Rudy menjadi ikon wisata kuliner di Surabaya.

These past few years, Indonesian food and beverage industry has been evolving said the Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto. In 2017, the growth of the industry reached 9,23% in 2017, therefore it contributed towards PBD for 34,95%. The change of people’s life style has been the biggest factor in the growth of food and beverage industry. Indonesian Ministry of Industry (KEMENPERIN) emphasized that the current potential and chance should be used properly. “Bu Rudy” is one of the culinary and souvenir attractions that has a very high demand and potential in Surabaya. It is classified as a family restaurant, thus, the majority of the visitors come with their family members. The restaurant is always cramped during the working hour. Based on the research results, it is found that Bu Rudy needs a special consideration over its interior design. The main problems that arise departs from its hygiene and the lack of use of antropometry in some of its interior elements. To cure the problem, contemporary style with a touch of Surabaya can be implemented in the interior design to provide a comfortable restaurant yet can represent Surabaya nicely. Thus, it can definitely develop and support Bu Rudy’s potetntial as the culinary icon of Surabaya.
