Abstract
In the manufacture and construction of offshore construction, especially for offshore structures, it must be related to the plate connection process called the welding process. Welding is an important role in the arrangement of offshore construction, especially the connection of offshore deck plates. This study is the use of ASTM A36 steel with the FCAW method and the electrode used is E 71T-1. The study has variations in groove angles of 70 degree and 55 degree and variations in heat input of 120 Amperes, 150 Amperes, and 180 Amperes. The results of the buckling test show welding with 120 Ampere variations and groove angles of 70 degree there are no open defects or cracks. And the results of the tensile test show the highest value of yield strength and ultimate strength in the 180 Ampere variation and 55 degree groove angles of 411.5 Mpa and 546.86 MPa. And the last one in micro-welding test observation with angle variation 70 degree has the biggest the percentage of ferrite structure in the weld metal and there is at 120 Ampere ampere variation of 80.0% while for percentage of pearlite structure formed at 20.0%.
