Abstract
Dalam upaya merealisasikan target 20 juta wisatawan pada tahun 2019, Presiden menghimbau agar Menteri BUMN dan Perhubungan melakukan perbaikan inftrastruktur. Sebagai salah satu BUMN yang mengelola pelabuhan di Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) turut berpartisipasi dengan memperbaiki dan menata ulang pelabuhan dengan mengembangkan pelabuhan berbasis wisata. Berawal dari pandangan masyarakat terhadap pelabuhan laut di Indonesia yang belum bisa lepas dari panas, debu, kotor, dan bau. Citra marjinal pelabuhan laut itu membuat sebagian besar masyarakat enggan untuk mendatangi pelabuhan. Hal tersebut mendorong PT. Pelindo III mendirikan Surabaya North Quay untuk mematahkan citra tersebut. Ramainya pengunjung menunjukan adanya antusias tinggi dari masyarakat, bukan hanya warga Surabaya bahkan masyarakat luar. Pengunjung dapat melakukan berbagai aktivitas, seperti menikmati hidangan khas Jawa Timur di festival kuliner, menikmati pertunjukan seni tradisional maupun modern, hingga berbelanja souvenir cantik produksi UKM lokal. Pada area outdoor pengunjung bisa melihat langsung aktivitas pelayaran di dermaga, menikmati keindahan laut dan sunset di sore hari, serta berfoto dengan latar kapal pesiar. Namun seiring perkembangan zaman, kondisi interior pada Surabaya North Quay perlu ditingkatkan dan fasilitas yang diberikan dapat dioptimalkan, seperti ditambahkan jumlah tempat duduk serta vegetasi tanaman sebagai peredam panas. Hal itu sangat disayangkan dengan antusias masyarakat yang selalu ramai mendatangi Surabaya North Quay. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pembaharuan desain pada interiornya guna meningkatkan kenyamanan dan ketertarikan pengunjung untuk mendatangi Surabaya North Quay kembali. Metode desain secara dekriptif dipilih untuk mengumpulkan informasi untuk mendapatkan data secara akurat dalam menentukan suatu konsep desain berupa langgam interior yang sesuai dengan corporate image dari Surabaya North Quay dan harapan semua pihak.==============================================================================================================================
In an effort to realize the target of 20 million tourists in 2019, the President urged the Minister of BUMN and Transportation to make infrastructure improvements. As one of the BUMN that manages ports in Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) also participates in improving and rearranging ports by developing tourism-based ports. Starting from the public's view of the seaports in Indonesia that have not been able to escape from heat, dust, dirt and odor. The marginal image of the seaport makes most people reluctant to visit the port. This prompted PT. Pelindo III established Surabaya North Quay to break the image. Crowds of visitors showed high enthusiasm from the community, not only the citizens of Surabaya and even the outside community. Visitors can carry out various activities, such as enjoying East Java specialties at culinary festivals, enjoying performances of traditional and modern art, and shopping for beautiful souvenirs produced by local UKM. In the outdoor area, visitors can see the cruise activity directly on the dock, enjoy the beauty of the sea and the sunset in the afternoon, and take pictures with the background of a cruise ship. But over the times, the interior conditions in Surabaya North Quay need can improve and the facilities provided can optimize, such as adding the number of seats and plant vegetation as heat absorbers. It is very unfortunate with the enthusiasm of the people who always come to the Surabaya North Quay. Therefore, there needs a redesign in the interior to increase the comfort and interest of visitors to come to Surabaya North Quay again. The descriptive design method chooses for collecting information to get the right data in determining a design concept in the form of interior style that was by the corporate reputation of Surabaya North Quay and the expectations of all parties.
