Abstract
Tegel merupakan elemen finishing lantai yang unik, estetis, dan berkarakter. Motif yang terdapat pada tegel dapat memperkuat tema tertentu yang akan diterapkan pada suatu rancangan desain interior. Selama ini kebanyakan motif tegel semen yang ada di masyarakat adalah batik peninggalan Belanda. Atas permintaan pasar diperlukan motif baru yang mengandung seni Indonesia. Batik merupakan motif yang dapat mencerminkan budaya bangsa Indonesia yang diakui oleh UNICEFsebagai salah satu warisan dunia. Supaya tetap relevan dengan perkembangan zaman di era globalisasi ini batik harus dimodifikasi agar dapat diterima oleh kalangan muda, juga untuk memperkaya ragam motifnya. Modifikai batik saat ini tidak sebatas pada eksplorasi motifnya saja, tetapi juga pada eksplorasi medianya.
Dalam melakukan perancangan ini digunakan beberapa metode yaitu, studi literatur, studi eksisting, observasi, depth interview, dan studi eksperimental. Eksplorasi Indonesia yang mencakup batik klasik, batik pasisir, dan batik Sumatra yang diaplikasikan pada tegel semen diharapkan dapat memperkaya ragam motif tegel saat ini yang masih mengandalkan motif peninggalan zaman Belanda. Dalam mengadaptasi motif batik tersebut digunakan analisis tipologi dari karya batik yang sudah ada. Output yang dihasilkan dari perancangan ini adalah eksplorasi motif tegel yang terinspirasi dari batik Indonesia. Motif yang telah dibuat tersebut diasistensikan kepada ahli tegel sehingga motif tersebut nantinya dapat diaplikasikan dalam media tegel semen. Motif yang dihasilkan akan direalisasikan menjadi tegel semen dan katalog.

Tegel is a unique, aesthetic, and characteristic finishing floor element. The motives found in tiles can strengthen certain themes that will be applied to an interior design design. So far, most of the cement tile motifs in the community are inherited from Dutch batik. At the market request new motives containing Indonesian art are needed. Batik is a motive that can reflect the Indonesian culture that is recognized by UNICEF as one of the world heritage. In order to remain relevant to the times in this globalization era, batik must be modified to be accepted by young people, as well as to enrich the variety of motives. The current modification of batik is not limited to the exploration of its motives, but also on the exploration of its media.
In conducting this design several methods are used, namely, study of literature, existing studies, observation, depth interviews, and experimental studies. Indonesia's exploration, which includes classical batik, pasisir batik and Sumatra batik applied to cement tiles, is expected to enrich the variety of tile motifs that are still relying on the heritage motifs of the Dutch era. In adapting the batik motif, a typological analysis of existing batik works was used. The output generated from this design is exploration of tile motifs inspired by Indonesian batik. The motif that has been made is certified to the tile expert so that the motif can later be applied in cement tile media. The resulting motif will be realized into cement tiles and catalogs.
