Abstract

Peninjauan atas parameter hidrodinamik dalam eksperimen holed circular calming strip sieve tray without downcomers dilakukan pada kolom yang mempunyai 7 tray, 2 chimney, 1 liquid distributor dan 1 vapor distributor dengan: diameter 298 mm, 415 hole, hole size 5 mm dan tray spacing 38 cm. Pengamatan atas data eksperimen seperti clear liquid height, tray pressure drop, entrainment serta perhitungan atas flooding, efisiensi, fractional holes vapor passing, liquid backup downcomer, dan weeping. Dari data pengamatan dianalisa dengan pendekatan multiple regression atas clear liquid height (hLR) dan vapor superficial velocity (Us). Pendekatan multiple regression data pengamatan tersebut mengacu pada persamaan umum yang dikeluarkan oleh Fractionation Research Inc (FRI) USA serta referensi lain seperti Garcia, Xu et al, Jiajia Zhang, dan Kurella, serta berdasarkan pada perumusan empiris yang ada di literatur. Hasil pendekatan multiple regression dari eksperimen digunakan untuk memperhitungkan parameter hidrodinamika yang lain dengan variabel input pada liquid flowrate 5-15 lpm dan vapor flowrate 70-150 Nm3/jam. Dari hasil persamaan regresi, maka digambarkan secara grafis hubungan antara data pengamatan maupun data dari turunan rumusan regresi seperti clear liquid height (hL) dan clear liquid height menurut regresi (hLR), tray pressure drop terhadap flowrate udara dan liquid yang divariasikan diperoleh grafik hubungan antar parameter hidrodinamik. Grafik yang diperoleh dibandingkan terhadap peneliti terdahulu seperti Xu et al (1994), Garcia et al (2002), Jiajia Zhang et al (2015), Kurella et al (2017) ternyata memperlihatkan kecenderungan kondisi grafis yang seirama. Di samping itu dibandingkan pula terhadap sieve tray without downcomer dan sieve tray with downcomer dengan perhitungan secara empiris. Dari hasil eksperimen didapatkan nilai efisiensi yang lebih tinggi dari efisiensi eksperimen Zhang dan Kurella. Sedangkan secara empiris, nilai efisiensinya lebih rendah 4-5% dari sieve tray with downcomer, dan lebih tinggi 1-2% terhadap sieve tray without downcomer. Namun kapasitas pengolahan bisa lebih tinggi 20-30% dari sieve tray with downcomer sehingga diperoleh revenue yang lebih tinggi dan lebih menguntungkan pada batasan performa yang sama. Dengan demikian, holed circular calming strip sieve tray without downcomer diyakini dapat menggantikan sieve tray with downcomer dalam proses distilasi. =================================================================================================================================
A review of the hydrodynamic parameters in the circular calming holed experiments strip sieve tray without downcomers performed on a column with 7 tray, 2 chimney, 1 liquid distributor and 1 vapor distributor with: diameter 298 mm, 415 hole, hole size 5 mm and tray spacing 38 cm. Observation of experimental data such as clear liquid height, tray pressure drop, entrainment as well as calculation of flooding, efficiency, fractional holes vapor passing, liquid backup downcomer, and weeping. From the observation data is analyzed with a multiple regression approach of clear liquid height (hLR) and vapor superficial velocity (Us). The multiple regression data observation approach refers to the general equation issued by Fractionation Research Inc. (FRI) USA as well as other references such as Garcia, Xu et al, Jiajia Zhang, and Kurella, as well as based on empirical formulation in the literature. The results of the multiple regression approach of an experiment are used to take into account the other hydrodynamics parameters with the input variables on the Liqud flow rates of 5-15 LPM and Vapor flow rate of
70-150 Nm3/hr.From the results of the regression equation, it is graphically depicted the relationship between observation data and data from regression formulation derivatives such as clear liquid height (hL) and clear liquid height by regression (hLR), tray pressure drop against air flowrate and Liquid that is variated obtained by the relationship graph between hydrodynamic parameters. The graphics gained compared to previous researchers such as Xu et al (1994), Garcia et al (2002), Jiajia Zhang et al (2015), Kurella et al (2017) apparently demonstrated the tendency of the rhythmic graphical conditions. In addition, compared to sieve tray without downcomer and sieve tray with downcomer with empirical calculations. From the experiment results obtained a higher efficiency value than the efficiency of Zhang and Kurella experiments. Whereas empirically, the efficiency value is lower than 4-5% of the sieve tray with downcomer, and higher 1-2% against the sieve tray without downcomer. However, the processing capacity can be 20-30% higher than the sieve tray with downcomer so that it will be obtained higher revenue and more profitable on the same performance limitation. Thus, the holed circular calming strip sieve tray without downcomer is believed to replace the sieve tray with downcomer in the distillation process.
