Abstract
Kebun Binatang Surabaya (KBS) yang saat ini dikelola oleh Pemerintah Kota masih dalam tahap perkembangan dengan beberapa permasalahan didalamnya. Permasalahan tersebut diantaranya adalah program dan media edukasi yang masih terlalu konvensional seperti Animal Identification Sign (AIS)/ Papan Identifikasi Satwa, Tour Guide, kegiatan literakriya, dan lainnya. Kondisi ini membuat KBS masih belum bisa bersaing dalam segi edukasi dan teknologi dengan kebun binatang lain yang telah mengembangkan program dan media edukasi yang lebih modern dan interaktif. Metode yang dilakukan penulis dalam perancangan ini adalah observasi dan wawancara. Observasi dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data lapangan seperti aktivitas satwa, pengunjung, media edukasi KBS, dan program edukasi yang sedang dilaksanakan KBS. Selain itu, wawancara kepada pihak KBS juga dilakukan untuk mendapatkan data internal KBS. Perancangan ini menghasilkan luaran berupa aplikasi edukasi satwa dengan konten berupa infografis animasi tentang edukasi satwa secara berjenjang. Konten aplikasi dapat diakses dengan men-scan QR-Code yang ada di AIS pada setiap spesies satwa . Edukasi dikemas dalam bentuk infografis animasi diharapkan dapat membantu pengguna dalam memahami konten yang disajikan seperti data matematis, bentuk dan ukuran tubuh, gestur,cerita hingga kata-kata ilmiah dalam ilmu Zoologi.

Surabaya Zoo (KBS) which is currently managed by the City Government is still in the development stage with several problems in it. These problems include programs and educational media that are still too conventional such as Animal Identification Sign (AIS) / Animal Identification Board, Tour Guide, literacy activities, and others. This condition makes KBS still unable to compete in terms of education and technology with other zoos that have developed more modern and interactive educational programs and media. The method by the author in this design is observation and interview. Observations were made to obtain field data such as animal activities, visitors, KBS educational media, and educational programs being implemented by KBS. In addition, interviews with KBS were also conducted to obtain KBS internal data. This design produced an output in the form of an animal education application with content in the form of animated infographics about tiered animal education. Application content can be accessed by scanning QR-Code in AIS for each animal species. Education packaged in the form of animated infographics is expected to help users understand the content presented such as mathematical data, body shapes and sizes, gestures, stories to scientific words in Zoology.
