Abstract
Bioetanol (C2H5OH) adalah etanol yang dibuat dari fermentasi gula dari sumber karbohidrat menggunakan bantuan mikroorganisme. Saat ini, penggunaan bioetanol sebagai bahan bakar menjadi sangat penting. Semakin sedikitnya sumber energi fosil yang ada di bumi dan semakin tingginya pencemaran lingkungan menjadi faktor utama dibutuhkannya energi alternatif yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Prosedur pembuatan bioetanol terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu tahap pra-perawatan nira tebu, tahap fermentasi, dan tahap penyulingan. Pada tahap pretreatment tebu digiling dan diambil niranya untuk masuk kedalam tahap fermentasi. Pada tahap fermentasi, nira tebu yang sudah di tahap pretreatment ditambahkan dengan fermipan (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) dengan nutrisi xx% dari cairan nira tebu, kemudian diaduk secara homogen sampai. Solusinya difermentasi selama 1 minggu, 2 minggu, 3 minggu, 4 minggu, 5 minggu, 6 minggu, 7 minggu dan 8 minggu (sesuai pengobatan). Pada tahap distilasi, fermentasi Solusinya dimasukkan ke dalam labu destilasi. Suhu pemanasan dipertahankan pada suhu 78-800C. Proses distilasi dilakukan selama 1,5-2 jam sampai etanol tidak menetes lagi. Ukur hasil penyulingan (etanol) yang diperoleh. Dari percobaan pembuatan bioetanol ini, hasil terbaik diperoleh pada variabel minggu ke 4. Parameter dari inovasi ini adalah kandungan air dan kemurnian dari etanol yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan disalah satu laboratorium di Departemen Teknik Kimia Industri Fakultas Vokasi ITS Surabaya. Pelaksanaan penelitian inovasi ini dilaksanakan selama ± 4 bulan (februari-mei).

The fewer fossil energy sources that exist on earth and the increasing environmental pollution are the main factors needed for alternative energy that is more environmentally friendly. The procedure for making bioethanol consists of four stages, namely the pre-treatment stage of sugar cane juice, the fermentation stage, and the distillation stage. At the pretreatment stage the sugar cane is milled and taken to enter the fermentation stage. At the fermentation stage, sugar cane juice which has been pretreated is added with fermipan (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) with xx% nutrition from the sugar cane juice, then stirred homogeneously until. The solution is fermented for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks, 6 weeks, 7 weeks and 8 weeks (according to treatment). At the distillation stage, the fermentation solution is put into a distillation flask. The heating temperature is maintained at 78-800C. The distillation process is carried out for 1.5-2 hours until ethanol does not drip again. Measure the results of the distillation (ethanol) obtained. From the experiments on making bioethanol, the best results were obtained in the 4th week variable. The parameter of this innovation was the water content and purity of the ethanol produced. This research was carried out in one of the laboratories in the Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering Vocational Faculty of ITS Surabaya. The implementation of this innovation research was carried out for ± 4 months (February-May)
