Abstract

Kota modern atau biasa dikenal sebagai kota metropolitan seperti ibu kota Jakarta, telah banyak menyerap tenaga kerja baik penduduk asli kota maupun penduduk daerah. Beberapa institusi pendidikan tinggi juga berlokasi di pusat kota, sehingga banyak penglaju baik itu pekerja maupun mahasiswa pulang pergi dari dan ke Jakarta. Beriringan dengan maraknya urbanisasi, perluasan kawasan perkotaan Jakarta ke pinggiran menyebabkan meningkatnya kebutuhan akan moda transportasi bagi aktivitas para penglaju. Gaya hidup komuter inilah yang menjadi ruang publik baru dan mulai menjamur di dekade terakhir. Mereka merupakan masyarakat yang rela melaju perjalanan yang cukup jauh untuk melakukan aktivitasnya seperti bekerja atau aktivitas lain setiap harinya. Meski dengan penyediaan sistem transportasi publik belum dapat mengakomodir para komuter hingga sampai ke tujuan terakhir. Mereka yang menjadi komuter seringkali mengalami situasi kemacetan hingga kelelahan baik fisik maupun pikiran. Melihat kondisi tersebut, pengembangkan portable vehicle berupa skuter elektris sebagai penunjang perjalanan para komuter dapat menjadi potensi. Mobilitas transit ditunjang dengan moda yang dapat diringkas untuk dibawa pada sarana transportasi publik seperti busway dan kereta komuter lokal. Dengan moda tersebut diharapkan dapat mengefisiensi waktu dan energi perjalanan saat beraktifitas di dalam kota serta mengakomodir perjalanan first mile and last mile hingga sampai ke lokasi tujuan akhir. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah design sprint untuk menguji kelayakan suatu ide melalui human-centered problem yang menghasilkan aktifitas persona dan diagram afinitas untuk mendapatkan kriteria dan fitur produk yang tepat guna. Sedangkan pada aspek pengaplikasian styling design digunakan metode geometrical forming development dari konsep desain dengan penyesuaian sistem mekanisme pada pada produk.

Modern cities or commonly known as metropolitan cities such as the capital city of Jakarta, have absorbed a lot of workforces both native people of the city and residents of the area. Some higher education institutions are also located in the downtown, so many commuters both workers and students commute to and from Jakarta. Along with the growth of urbanization, the expansion of Jakarta's urban areas to the surroundings has effected an increasing requirement for modes of transportation for commuters' activities. It is a commuter lifestyle that has become a new public space and has begun to rise in the last decade. They are people who are willing to travel far enough to do activities such as work or other activities every day. Although the provision of a public transportation system has not been able to accommodate the commuters to get to the last mile. Those who become commuters often had a traffic jam that causing exhaustion, both physically and mindfully. Seeing these conditions, the development of portable vehicles in the form of electric scooters to support commuter trips can be potential. Transit mobility is supported by modes that can be folded to be carried on public transportation facilities such as busways and local commuter trains. With this mode, it is expected to be able to efficiently travel time and energy while doing activities in the city and to accommodate the first mile and last mile trips to get to the final destination. The method used in this study is a design sprint to test the feasibility of an idea through human-centered problems that produce persona activities and affinity diagrams to get the appropriate criteria and product features. While the aspects of the application of styling design use the geometrical forming development method from the design concept by adjusting the mechanism system on the product.
