Abstract

Home Industri penghasil keripik tempe saat ini masih banyak menggunakan metode potong sederhana, yaitu menggunakan alat potong manual, sehingga memerlukan banyak tenaga dan waktu yang lama. Salah satu alternatif untuk menambah efisiensi dan produktifitas yaitu dengan membuat mesin perajang dengan satu pendorong. Pembuatan mesin ini dimulai dari merancang mekanisme penggerak pisau. Perhitungan dimulai dengan mencari besarnya gaya pada elemen-elemen mesin yang digunakan, besarnya daya motor yang digunakan, dan besarnya kapasitas yang dihasilkan oleh mesin potong. Setelah pembuatan mesin, mencari besarnya gaya potong yang terdapat pada tempe (melalui percobaan) dan dilakukan pengujian mengenai kapasitas sesungguhnya yang dapat dihasilkan oleh mesin potong. Dari percobaan didapatkan gaya potong tempe rata rata sebesar 1,8 kgf. Penggerak menggunakan motor sebesar 0,012HP dihasilkan putaran disk 56 rpm.

Today's home industry of producing tempe chips still uses a lot of simple cutting methods, namely using a manual cutting tool, which requires a lot of energy and a long time. One alternative to increase efficiency and productivity is by making a chopper machine with one driver. The making of this machine starts from designing a blade drive mechanism. The calculation begins by finding the magnitude of the force on the engine elements used, the amount of motor power used, and the amount of capacity produced by the cutting machine. After making the machine, look for the amount of cutting force found in tempe (through experiments) and do the testing of the actual capacity that can be produced by the cutting machine. From the experiment, the average cutting force of tempe was 1.8 kgf. The drive using a motor of 0.012HP produced a 56 rpm disk rotation.
