Abstract
Pesantren Al-Aqobah jombang merupakan salah satu
lokasi yang kurang baik dalam mengelola limbah domestiknya
yang masih menggunakan tangki septik untuk black water
dengan efisiensi removal COD sebesar 25-50% dan
pembuangan grey water ke selokan. Bukan hanya permasalahan
air limbah. Pelayanan air bersih pesantren ini pun terkadang tidak
memenuhi tiga aspek unit operasi penting yakni kuantitas,
kualitas, dan kontinuitas. Permasalahan tersebut dapat
diselesaikan dengan dibangunnya Instalasi Pengolahan Air
Limbah (IPAL) yang komprehensif berupa Anaerobic Baffled
Reactor (ABR) untuk black water yang terdiri dari bak pengendap
dan 4 kompartemen sehingga memiliki efisiensi removal sebesar
86,58% BOD, 82,32% COD, dan 65% untuk TSS dan grey water
yang sebelumnya dilakukan pre-treatment pada grease trap.
Kemudian untuk pelayanan air bersih dievaluasi dan didapat
beberapa pipa distribusi yang harus diganti agar memenuhi
kecepatan alirnya. Selain itu juga ditambahkan rooftank agar
memenuhi kebutuhan pada jam puncak. Serta digunakannya
desinfeksi berupa ultra violet agar memenuhi kualitas air bersih.

Al-Aqobah islamic boarding school is still treating their
black water using septic tank which has removal eficiency only
25%-50% and no treatment for the grey water. Fresh water
instalation is also worst. Sometimes it couldn’t fulfill the aspect of
quantity, quality, and continuity. That problem can be solve by
build comprehensive waste water treatment such as annaerobic
baffled reactor (ABR) for the black water which consist of sattler
and 4 compartments. This ABR has removal eficiency 86,58% for
BOD, 82,32% for COD, and 65% for TSS. The grey water is also
treated by ABR but using grease trap as pre-treatment. Then for
fresh water instalation should evaluate. Some of distribution pipe
must be replace with new pipe diameter for fulfilling flowrate
aspect. Adding some rooftank for supplying peak hour. Then
using ultra violet desinfection for fulfilling fresh water quality
aspect.
