Abstract

Tembaga merupakan salah satu unsur paduan yang ditambahkan
pada low carbon steel pambahan tembaga dilakukan untuk
meningkatkan ketahanan terhadap Atmosperic corrosion dengan
membentuk lapisan oksida Cu2O dan Cu(OH)2, dalam penelitian
ini dilakukan pemaduan tembaga dan baja AISI 1006 dengan
mencelupkan baja AISI 1006 yang sebelumnya telah di pre-heat
pada temparatur 900° C kedalam tembaga cair dengan waktu
tahan variasi tahan 5, 10,15 dan 20 menit untuk memberikan
waktu difusi, dilanjutkan dengan post-heat pada temperatur
1100°C di variasikan pendinginannya yaitu dengan metode
Normalizing, Quenching pada media air dan Annealing.
Kemudian dilakukan pengujian komposisi kimia dengan EOS,
pengujian strukur mikro/makro, pengujian fasa dengan XRD dan
pengujian laju korosi dengan pengujian Polarization Tafel.
Didapat muncul nya struktur acicular ferrite, Widmanstatten
Ferrite,dan Granular Ferrite pada pendinginan Quenching,
muncul Widmanstatten Ferrite dan Polygonal Ferrite pada
pendinginan Normalizing, dan muncul Polygonal Ferrite pada
pendinginan Annealing. Dimana Proses copperizing menurunkan
diameter butir dan post-heat menambah diameter butir.Terjadi
penurunan nilai Corrosion rate untuk baja AISI 1006,
penambahan waktu post-heat semakin menurunkan nilai
corrosion rate, dengan nilai corrosion rate rendah 6.489 mpy
pada Baja AISI 1006 copperizing dengan post-heat 20 menit
pendinginan quenching.

Copper is one of the alloying elements that are added to the low

Normalizing, and appeared Polygonal Ferrite on cooling
Annealing. Where copperizing process lowers grain diameter and
post-heat add grain Diameter impairment Corrosion rate on steel
AISI 1006, the addition of post-heat time is increasingly reducing
the corrosion rate, the lower value of corrosion rate 6.489 mpy
on AISI 1006 Steel copperizing with post- 20 minutes quenching.
