Abstract
Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan komposisi hutan hujan tropis
terbaik di dunia, sehingga potensi kayu yang diperoleh juga cukup banyak. Banyak
suku dan adat yang mulai mengandalkan kayu sebagai bagian dari nilai kehidupan,
terutama elemen dalam membangun arsitektur. Budaya tersebut lambat laun hilang
karena pergeseran ekonomi yang terjadi di Indonesia, khususnya pulau Jawa dengan
potensi kayu Jati, Sonokeling, dll. Pembalakkan liar seringkali terjadi hanya sematamata
untuk memenuhi kebutuhan jangka pendek semata. Banyak masyarakat yang
mulai kehilangan makna bahwa kayu merupakan bagian dari budaya membangun
yang sudah lama berkembang selama ini. Tujuan dari desain ini adalah membangun
sebuah wadah di lingkungan rural dalam kelompok masyarakat menengah ke bawah
agar terciptanya budaya bertukang kembali pada tiap masyarakat kecil pemanen hasil
hutan. Berkaca pada metode desain dari Bernard Tschumi tentang pengalaman,
pengetahuan, dan pemahaman yang diperoleh dari ruang, pergerakan, serta kegiatan
yang diadakan dalam sebuah objek arsitektur. ========== Indonesia is one country with the composition of tropical rainforest in the
world, so the potential of wood obtained are also quite a lot. Many indigenous tribes
and began to rely on wood as part of the value of life, especially in building
architectural elements. The culture gradually lost due to economic shifts that occurred
in Indonesia, especially Java with potential Teak, Rosewood, etc. Illegal logging often
occurs solely only to fulfill short-term needs. Many people loses the meaning that the
wood is part of building a culture that has long been developed over the years. The
purpose of this design is to build a container in the rural environment in the middle of
lower group for the creation of an artisan culture back on every small community
harvesting of forest products. Reflecting on Bernard Tschumi design method of
experience, knowledge, and understanding gained from space, movement and
activities held in an architectural object.
