Abstract

Scour di sekitar pipa bawah laut merupakan aspek yang dapat
mempengaruhi stabilitas pipa tersebut. Beberapa eksperimen penelitian
sebelumnya telah dilakukan untuk menyelidiki kedalaman scour yang terjadi.
Meskipun banyak penelitian telah dilakukan pada satu pipa, namun pengaruh
perbandingan jarak antar pipa untuk scour pada dua pipa belum banyak dipahami.
Dalam penelitian ini akan difokuskan pada pengaruh diameter pipa (D),
perbandingan jarak antar pipa (G/D), dan bilangan Reynolds (Re) terhadap
kedalaman scour. Simulasi dilakukan untuk dua pipa berdiameter 0.075 m dan 0.1
m, di mana perbandingan jarak yaitu G/ D 1, G/ D 1.5, dan G/ D  3.
Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa saat diameter pipa sama maupun saat D1  D2 ,
kedalaman scour relatif akan meningkat seiring bertambahnya jarak antar pipa, di
mana D1 adalah diameter pipa utama dan D2 adalah diameter pipa kedua. Kondisi
sebaliknya terjadi saat D1  D2 , kedalaman scour akan berkurang seiring
bertambahnya jarak antar pipa. Perbandingan jarak G/ D 1 menghasilkan
kedalaman scour yang lebih kecil dari perbandingan jarak G/ D 1.5 dan
G/ D  3. Hal ini disebabkan oleh terganggunya vortex shedding di sekitar pipa
utama.

The scour around submarine pipelines is one of the factors that affecting
their stability which needs to be considered. There have been several experimental
investigations on scour depth. Although many studies have been conducted to
investigate scour below a single pipeline, the effects of the spacing between two
pipelines on scour behaviour are not properly understood. This study is focussed
to investigate the effects of pipeline diameters (D), gap ratio (G/D) between the
pipelines, and Reynolds Number (Re) on the scour depth. Simulations are
conducted for two pipelines with diameters 0.075 m and 0.1 m, where the gap
ratio is G/ D 1, G/ D 1.5, and G/ D  3. In case the pipeline diameter are
equal or D1  D2 , it is found that the relative scour depth increases with increasing
the gap ratio, where D1 and D2 are upstream and downstream pipeline diameters,
respectively. Meanwhile, when D1  D2 the scour depth decreases with decreasing
the gap ratio. For the gap G/ D 1, the scour depth is smaller than at the gap
G/ D 1.5 and G/ D  3 due to the disturbance of the vortex shedding around
the upstream pipeline.
