Abstract

Air Lubrication System merupakan salah satu cara yang
potensial untuk mengurangi konsumsi bahan bakar dengan cara
mengurangi resistensi kapal tanpa perubahan bentuk lambung utama
dan penurunan kecepatan operasional melainkan menurunkan
komponen terbesar kapal yaitu tahanan gesek (Frictional Resistance).
Hal tersebut dilakukan dengan cara memompa udara menggunakan
kompresor melalui bawah lambung kapal. Akan tetapi, dimungkinkan
air lubrication system akan berpengaruh terhadap performa propeller
akibat terikutnya udara (airdrawing) di dalam aliran fluida air yang
menuju propeller. Propeler adalah jenis baling-baling yang
memberikan kekuatan dengan mengubah gerak rotasi menjadi gaya
dorong. Perbedaan tekanan antara depan dan belakang permukaan
airfoil berbentuk blade menghasilkan akselerasi air dibelakang blade.
Metode bollard pull adalah metode pengujian yang digunakan
untuk uji kemampuan tarik pada kapal. Metode tersebut dilakukan
dengan cara mengikatkan kapal dengan tambang pada sebuah tonggak
sebagai penahan, serta diberi sensor beban/force tranducer. Dari hasil
percobaan yang dilakukan dengan metode Bollard pull test,
menunjukkan penginjeksian udara di AP pada tekanan kompresor 4.5
bar terjadi penurunan nilai thrust yang besar, dari nilai standar 31.2 N
menjadi 20.7 N. Sedangkan di midship dan FP, nilai thrust menjadi
28,4 N dan 27, 9 N.

Air Lubrication System is one of potential way to reduce fuel
consumption and resistance hull form of the ship without major change
or decrease the operational speed but decrease the largest component
of the ship that is the frictional resistance. This is doing by using a
compressor pump air through the hull of the ship. However, it’s
possible water lubrication system will affect the performance of the
propeller because of airdrawing in the fluid flow of water towards the
propeller. Propeller is the type of propeller type which provides power
to transform rotational motion into thrust force. The difference in
pressure between the front and rear surface of the airfoil-shaped blade
produces acceleration of water behind blade propeller.
Bollard pull method is a testing method for ability test of a
pull of the ship. The method is done by bunding the ship with a rope
on a bollard as a buffer, and using the load sensor / force transducer.
From results of experiments conducted by Bollard pull test method,
showing injection of air in AP at pressure of 4.5 bar compressor
decrease thrust, from the value of the standard 31.2 N to 20.7 N. While
at midship and FP, the value of thrust to 28.4 N and 27, 9 N.
