Abstract

Peningkatan performa kapal diperlukan untuk menunjang kinerja kapal, hal tersebut dapat dilakukan salah satunya dengan meningkatkan efisiensi sistem propulsi. Peningkatan efisiensi sistem propulsi terdapat berbagai macam cara, diantaranya memodifikasi bentuk lambung dan memodifikasi propulsor. Tugas Akhir ini berfokus pada modifikasi bentuk propulsor dengan menganalisis nilai velocity of advance, thrust dan torque yang nantinya dari ketiga variabel ini berpengaruh terhadap nilai efisiensi sistem propulsi. Untuk mengetahui nilainya, maka dilakukan simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamic dibantu dengan software CFD tools pada kondisi uniform flow. Setelah hasil diperoleh, maka dilakukan pembuatan desain baru pemasangan sebuah stator yang selanjutnya dalam Tugas Akhir ini disebut multipler rows ducted propeller (MRDP) dengan menerapkan variasi sudut pitch 0°, 3°, 6°, dan 9° pada stator .Selanjutnya disimulasikan kembali menggunakan software CFD tools dengan kondisi ununiform flow. Setelah itu, dilakukanlah studi komparatif terhadap nilai velocity of advance, thrust, torque dan efisiensi sistem propulsi diantara ducted propeller dengan multiple rows ducted propeller. Dan hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa penambahan stator dapat meningkatkan nilai velocity of advance, thrust, torque dan efisiensi sistem propulsive.
Tercatat untuk nilai velocity of advance tertinggi terletak pada MRDP dengan sudut pitch 6º yakni sebesar 4,142 m/s. Untuk nilai thrust tertinggi terletak pada MRDP dengan sudut pitch 9º yakni sebesar 165174,43 N. Untuk nilai torque tertinggi terletak pada MRDP dengan sudut pitch 9º yakni sebesar 88224,10 Nm.Dan untuk nilai efisiensi sistem propulsi vang tertinggi terletak pada MRDP dengan sudut pitch 6º yakni sebesar 0,5139.

Improving of the ship performance is needed to support the ship maneuverability, this can be done one of them by increasing the efficiency of propulsion system. There are some way to increasing the efficiency of propulsion system such as hull modification and ppropulsor form modification.
This Final Project focusing on modification of the form of propulsor by analyzing the value of advance velocity, thrust and torque which is these three variables can be affect on increasing the value of the efficiency of propulsion system. To find out those value, a Computational Dynamic Fluid simulation that supported with a CFD software tools is performed under uniform flow conditions. After the results are obtained, a new stator mounting in the design has made, which is then called a multipler rows ducted propeller (MRDP) after that applying variations in pitch angles of 0 °, 3 °, 6 ° and 9 ° on the stator. Repeating Computational Dynamic Fluid simulation with non-uniform flow conditions. After that, a comparative study was carried out on the values of advance velocity, thrust, torque and efficiency of the propulsion system between ducted propellers and MRDP. And the results increase the advance velocity, thrust, torque and propulsive system efficiency. Noted for the highest advance velocity value is located on MRDP with a pitch angle of 6º of 4,142 m / s. For the highest thrust value is located on the MRDP with a pitch angle of 9º of 165174.43 N. For the highest torque value on MRDP with a pitch angle of 9º that is equal to 88224.10 Nm. And for the value of the highest efficiency propulson system on MRDP with a pitch angle of 6º that is equal to 0.5139
