Abstract

Gunung Merapi merupakan gunung api tipe A yaitu gunung api
sama namun besar pergeseran berbeda. Begitu pula pada bulan
Mei dan Juni pola dan pergeseran sama namun besar pergeseran
berbeda. Untuk bulan lainnya pergeseran memiliki arah yang
berbeda dengan besar yang berbeda juga. Dari hasil pergeseran
yang terjadi kemudian dilakukan analisis regangan dimana
selama Januari hingga Juli 2015 tubuh gunung Merapi
mengalami ekstensi (inflasi) antara 1.36 hingga 6.36 μ-strain.
vi

Merapi volcano is a type A volcano. Type A volcanoes are
volcanoes that have magma activity and eruptions recorded since
1600. Merapi volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in the
world. Almost every period, eruption occured in Merapi volcano.
Eruptive activity repeat from 2-7 years. To determine the
condition of Merapi volcano some monitoring methods required.
One method for monitoring Merapi volcano is the deformation
method. Deformation method observes changes in the coordinates
of several points that represent a volcano from time to time.
Calculation of deformation in this study were computed by using
data GPS CORS observation of Merapi volcano on station KLAT,
PLAW, DELS and GRWH with BPTK as base point. Result from
processing of GPS data every station from January to July 2015
has a different moving value. In January and February every
station has same pattern and direction but different in value.
Similarly, in May and June deformation’s pattern similar but
different in value. For the other months deformation has a
different direction with a different value as well. Then,
Deformation rate is used to compute strain rate in Merapi
volcano. Strain rate in Merapi volcano from January to July 2015
has value between 1.36 and 6.36 μ-strain where the body of
Merapi occured extensions (inflation). Strain that occured in the
viii
body Merapi volcano has R= 0.8809 toward seismisity with
positive correlation.
