Abstract
Industri besi dan baja merupakan pendukung utama dalam pembangunan infrastruktur di Indonesia, seperti pembangunan jalan, bandara, pelabuhan, dan rel kereta api dan Oleh karena itu, produsen maupun penyedia baja dalam negeri perlu meningkatkan kualitas dan kapasitas untuk memenuhi permintaan baja domestik dalam negeri. Dan salah satu perusahaan penyedia baja dalam negeri adalah PT.Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk. Salah satu cara untuk mengontrol kualitas produk adalah melakukan pengendalian kualitas dan menjaga kapabilitas prosesnya. PT. Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk merupakan salah satu produsen plat baja terkemuka di Indonesia yang cara memproduksinya dengan cara di roll. PT. Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk mampu memproduksi plat baja hingga total 350.000 ton per tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas plate baja dalam keadaan terkendali atau tidak dan seberapa besar kapabilitas prosesnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses produksi plate baja pada periode dua minggu awal (Fase I) dan satu minggu akhir yaitu fase II pada bulan Januari 2016 sudah kapabel dengan nilai indeks Cp masing-masing adalah 1,2991 dan 3,046 yang lebih dari satu, Artinya proses produksi berjalan dengan baik dan sebaran data berada didalam batas spesifikasi.

Iron and steel industry is a major supporter in infrastructure development in Indonesia, such as the construction of roads, airports, ports, and railroads and therefore, manufacturer and provider of steel in the country needs to improve the quality and capacity to meet domestic steel demand in the country. And a provider of domestic steel is PT.Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk. One way to control the quality of the product is to conduct quality control and maintain the process capability. PT. Dianjaya Gunawan Steel Tbk is one of the leading steel plate producer in Indonesia is how to produce it in a way in roll. PT. Dianjaya Gunawan Steel Tbk able to produce an armor plate up to a total of 350,000 tons per year. This study aims to determine the quality of the steel plate under controlled conditions or not and how much capability the process. The results showed that the production process of steel plate in the initial two-week period (Phase I) and one week of the end of that phase II in January 2016 with the index value Cp capable each was 1.2991 and 3.046 are more than one, means that the process production went well and the distribution of the data to be dida-lam specification limits.
