Abstract

Perkembangan dunia industri dan tekologi terus mengalami kemajuan yang sangat pesat. Mobil merupakan salah satu produk otomotif yang terus dikembangkan karena merupakan alat transportasi yang banyak digunakan masyarakat. Adapun faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumen dalam memilih mobil, yaitu kenyamanan dan keamanan pengendara. Kualitas kenyamanan mobil sangat berpengaruh terhadap daya tahan tubuh pengendara. Mobil dengan kualitas kenyamanan yang rendah akan membuat pengendara lebih mudah lelah. Kelelahan pengendara merupakan salah satu penyebab kecelakaan lalu lintas. Berdasarkan data dari KORLANTAS POLRI, mobil menyumbang 14% dari jumlah keseluruhan kecelakaan lalu lintas. Dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas kenyamanan kendaraan dilakukan pengembangan dalam sistem suspensi kendaraan. Pada tugas akhir ini, terdapat dua macam tahapan, yakni tahap pengujian dan tahap analisis. Pada tahap pengujian, dilakukan pengujian suspensi untuk mendapatkan persentase road holding yang digunakan untuk menentukan kriteria keamanan kendaraan. Selanjutnya tahap analisis dengan melakukan simulasi untuk mengetahui percepatan rms yang dialami oleh pengemudi dan penumpang mobil Toyota Fortuner serta persentase road holding berdasarkan simulasi.

The development on industrial and technological area, have improved significantly. Car industry become example of significant improvement because the high demand. Safety and comforts is the most important factor that affect the consumer demand on every car. The design on car comforts will effect on passenger strength. Car with bad comforts design will drive passenger to produce energy which make them exhausted in short time. Driver who is exhausted has become one factor that caused a traffic accident. Based on data by Traffic Coordinator of Indonesian Police, car accident caused more than 14% of total occurred accident. A way to improved comforts quality design of vehicle, a study about suspension system is developed. This final project, have two stage of study, the experiment and data analysis. The experiment will test the road grip percentage that used as a safety factor. The data analysis, will analyzed the simulation that shows the RMS acceleration and road grip percentage that occur on passenger and driver of Toyota Fortuner.
