Abstract
Kappaphycus alvarezii merupakan salah satu jenis rumput
laut yang sering terinfeksi penyakit ice-ice dengan ditandai
adanya perubahan warna talus rumput laut putih bening atau
transparan. Penyakit ini dapat menyebabkan penurunan produksi
pada beberapa lokasi budidaya rumput laut. Oleh karena itu,
pengendalian penyakit ice-ice melalui karakterisasi dan
enumerasi bakteri perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui lokasi
budidaya yang cocok sehingga mampu meningkatkan jumlah
produksi rumput laut.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter dan
dinamika kelimpahan bakteri yang terdapat pada masing-masing
lokasi budidaya rumput laut terkait adanya kemunculan penyakit
ice-ice dengan adanya perubahan kondisi lingkungan.
Dinamika kelimpahan bakteri di perairan desa Talango,
Saronggi, dan Lobuk fluktuatif. Sedangkan dinamika kelimpahan
bakteri di perairan desa Palasa selalu meningkat namun jumlah
peningkatan dari bulan Desember 2015 sampai April 2016 tidak
selalu sama. Karakteristik bakteri yang teridentifikasi pada tiap
bulan di seluruh lokasi perairan budidaya rumput laut adalah
bakteri Gram negatif dengan kemampuan motilitas untuk
melakukan pergerakan

Kappaphycus alvarezii is one kind of seaweed that often
infected by ice-ice disease with discoloration into translucent or
transparent white. This disease reduces the productivity of
seaweed cultivation in some locations. Therefore restainining of
ice-ice disease through characterization and enumeration
bacteria has to be conducted to determine the suitable location
for cultivation to increase the ammount of seaweeed productivity.
This study aims to determine character and total dynamic
of bacteria that found in each location of seaweed cultivation
related to the occurrence of ice-ice disease with changing
environmental conditions. The result showed that total dynamic of
microbes in Talango, Saronggi, and Lobuk seaweed cultivation
was fluctuative. Whereas total dynamic of microbes in palasa
seaweed cultivation increased but the total excalation of bacteria
from December 2015 until April 2016 was not equal in each
month. Characteristics of bacteria that identified in each month
across all locations of seaweed farming was a Gram-negative
bacteria with the ability to perform a movements
