Abstract

Instalasi sistem perpipaan yang disebut fitting (aksesoris),
yang mempunyai koefisien losses (headloss total) dan
menyebabkan pressure drop (ΔP) sepanjang aliran. Aliran yang
mengalir pada elbow mengalami kerugian gesekan (friction loss)
dan terbentuknya aliran sekunder (secondary flow). Seperti halnya
pada aliran yang mengalir dalam pipa lurus yang mengalami
kerugian separasi (separation loss).
Model penelitian dalam studi numerik ini berupa square
ducting terdiri upstream straight channel yang tersambung
square elbow 900. Pada bagian setelah elbow 900 terdapat
downstream straight channel sepanjang x/Dh=18 dengan damper
yang terletak di dalamnya sepanjang x/Dh=2. Fluida kerja
penelitian adalah udara yang mengalir secara steady,
incompressible fluid, fully develop dan mempunyai kondisi aliran
uniform disisi inlet dengan Re=7,88×104 dan damper 30o CW dan
30o CCW.
Hasil penelitian numerik akan diperoleh profil kecepatan
secara dua dimensi, vektor kecepatan pada setiap cross section,
pressure drop (ΔP) di sepanjang ducting system yang
ditambahkan single guide vane.

Piping system installation is always has a component called
fittings (accessories), which has a coefficient of losses (total
headloss) and cause the pressure drop (ΔP) throughout the flow.
That is because the stream that flows at the elbow suffered losses
due to friction (friction loss) and the formation of secondary flow.
Similar as the stream flowing in the straight pipes that suffered
losses as a result of separation (separation loss).
Experimental model that used in this numerical study is
square ducting in the form of straight upstream channel that
connected in square elbow 900. In section after elbow 900, there
are downstream straight channel along the x/Dh=18 with a damper
located inside along the x/Dh=2. The working fluid that used in
the simulation test is flowing air at steady, incompressible fluid,
fully develop and have a uniform flow conditions in the inlet side
with Re=7.88×104 two damper is 30 o CW and 30 o CCW.
Numerical research results will be obtained in a twodimensional
velocity profile, the velocity vector at each cross
section, pressure drop (ΔP) along the ducting system that added
single guide vane.
