Abstract

Penelitian ini didasari atas kurangnya tayangan animasi di televisi Indonesia yang mengangkat konten lokal karena sebagian besar serial animasi yang ditayangkan merupakan tayangan impor karena pihak stasiun televisi yang ragu akan kualitas animasi karya dalam negeri. Selain itu, teknik dan konten yang monoton juga menjadi hal yang dipertimbangkan, hingga akhirnya muncul sebuah serial animasi dengan jenis stop motion yang menduduki peringkat pertama dalam Program Anak berdasarkan survey AGB Nielsen. Banyaknya prosentase jumlah penonton anak usia 7-12 tahun juga mempengaruhi konten dalam tayangan televisi tersebut. Dalam melengkapi tujuan akhir dari penelitian ini, dilakukan depth interview kepada psikolog anak, dalang, serta animator stop motion. Dilakukan pula observasi terhadap literatur dan trailer animasi lain untuk mendapatkan referensi mengenai konsep trailer, teknik animasi stop motion dan konten yang sesuai dengan karakteristik audiens dimana mereka dinilai mampu berfikir secara logis serta terikat dengan sesuatu yang konkret, suka berkompetisi, serta mampu membedakan konsep baik-buruk dan sebab-akibat. Luaran dari hasil penelitian ini adalah serial animasi stop motion yang mengangkat kisah Pandawa Sokalima yang dirangkum dalam sebuah video trailer dengan pesan cerita yang mengandung unsur informatif, normatif, dan edukatif yang dapat dipahami oleh audiens. Mereka juga mampu membedakan karakter yang ditampilkan dengan mengenali karakteristik secara fisik, maupun sifat. Selanjutnya, diharapkan penelitian ini mampu memberi inspirasi kepada animator lainnya untuk mengembangkan industri animasi Indonesia.

This project is based on the concerns of the lacking amount of animation series in Indonesia television programs, which uplifts local contents because they mostly air the imported ones. Main reason is the stations still have the hesitation on the quality of the local animation industry. Moreover, the monotonous techniques and contents are one of many things to be considered of as well, that there was a stop motion animated tv series which succeed to climb on top of the Children Program based on a survey held by AGB Nielsen. The quantity of children of age 7-12 year-old audiences also takes effects on the content within the animations exhibited. In order to achieve a final output of this research, we need data, which then acquires some depth interviews with a child psychologist, a dalang, and a stop motion animator. Besides, data also obtained by observing various of literatures and trailers of some animations as the references about trailer concept, stop motion animation techniques and local contents which are suitable for target audiences who start to get to think with logical perspective, competitive, and they are capable to differentiate the concept of good-bad and causation, too. The final output of the research is a stop motion animation series that presents a story of Pandawa Sokalima which then be summarized in a trailer video with a story that contains informative, normative, and learning concept, which can be fully understood by the audiences. Besides, The audiences as well are capable to differentiate the characters shown in the trailer, based on physical feature and personal traits. This research is expected to be able to inspire other fellow animators to develop this animation industry of Indonesia
