Abstract

Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) merupakan pembangkit listrik yang kemampuan produksinya sangat tergantung oleh lingkungan dan konfigurasi sistem serta beban yang harus dipenuhi sistem tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan studi untuk mengetahui performansi aktual PLTS Teknik Fisika ITS serta pengaruh pemberian variasi konfigurasi array modul PV dan variasi profil pembebanan
terhadap performa sistem. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan analisa performansi aktual sistem yang didasarkan pada data yang diperoleh dengan pengukuran langsung, kemudian pengaruh variasi konfigurasi array modul PV dan variasi profil pembebanan terhadap performa sistem dianalisa menggunakan software. Hasil studi menunjukkan performansi aktual sistem yang direpresentasikan oleh nilai performance ratio yakni sebesar 69,1%, nilai ini berada dibawah standar untuk PLTS yakni 80%. Berdasarkan simulasi ditemukan bahwa variasi konfigurasi array PV berpengaruh terhadap shading loss dan ohmic wiring loss. Kemudian variasi profil pembebanan yang diberikan kepada sistem mempengaruhi energi yang dihasilkan array PV, SOC minimum dan maksimum baterai, serta loss of load probability sistem. Kombinasi yang menghasilkan performa terbaik pada sistem yakni konfigurasi array PV 2 seri 3 string dan profil pembebanan 200 W selama 12 jam dari pukul 18.00 hingga 06.00 dengan nilai performance ratio 87,31%.

Solar Power Plant is a type of power plant which ability to generate energy is very dependent on the environment condition, system configuration, and the load that needs to be satisfied by the system. The purpose of this study is to determine the actual performance of Teknik Fisika ITS Solar Power Plant and the effect of different PV array configuration and different load profile to the system
performance. The system’s actual performance was analyzed according to the measured data and the effect of PV array configuration and load profile was analyzed using simulation tool. The study shows that the actual system performance which is represented by the performance ratio value of 69,1%. This value is well below the strandard performance ratio for solar power plant which is 80%.
Simulation depicts that the variation of PV array configuration affects shading loss and ohmic wiring loss of the array. Furthermore, the load profile variation affects the PV array generated energy, minimum and maximum SOC of the battery, and the loss of load probability of the system. The combination that results in the best
performance was PV array that was constructed of 2 module in series and 3 parallel strings to supply 200 Watt of load which is used for 12 hours a day from 18.00 to
06.00 with the performance ratio of 87,31%.
