Abstract

In the use of subsea pipeline, stability on the seabed becomes a matter that must be considered. Pipeline that are only laying on the seabed and operating in high temperature and pressure conditions, it is potentially to experience buckling. In this research, conducted analysis on the stability of 8” Gas Injection Line based on standard DNVGL RP F109 and also lateral buckling based on standard DNV RP F110. The stability analysis carried out includes vertical and lateral stability analysis. Lateral buckling analysis ensures that the effective axial force of the pipe doesn’t exceed the Hobbs infinite mode axial force. Based on the standard used, subsea pipeline can be said to be stable when it has a design criteria value less than or equal to one either vertically or laterally. From the analysis results, it is known that the design criteria value for vertical stability is 0.492. The value of design criteria of the lateral stability for the absolute static criteria is 1.44 while the generalized lateral static criteria are 1.2 for 0, 5D and 0.59 for 10D. The results of the lateral stability analysis indicate that the subsea pipeline doesn’t fulfill the absolute static and generalized 0,5D criteria but fulfill the 10D criteria. From the analysis it was obtained that the subsea pipe move 36,05 cm laterally. From the software modeling acquired a lateral pipe movement of 36,8 cm. Manual calculation result errors and software simulations of 2,17%. Based on buckling analysis indicates that it will not experience buckling, due to external pressure that works on pipes less than collapse pressure of pipe and lateral buckling will not occur.
