Abstract

Menurut data dari Unesco pada tahun 2011, terdapat 35 juta penyandang autisme di seluruh dunia. Di Indonesia perbandingannya 8 dari setiap 1000 orang. Hingga saat ini masih banyak penerimaan yang sulit dari orangtua terhadap anak dengan kondisi autis hingga stigma negatif yang beredar di masyarakat bahwa memiliki anak autis merupakan sebuah aib. Padahal interaksi antara orangtua dan
anak merupakan hal utama dalam keberhasilan perkembangan bagi anak autis,bahkan hingga spektrum autis dinyatakan hilang.
Anak autis memiliki kebutuhan khusus dalam menjalani kesehariannya. Hal ini perlu dipenuhi sebagai proses perkembangan mereka untuk dapat mandiri ketika
menghadapi “dunia luar”. Gangguan perkembangan yang dialami anak autis berkaitan dengan penggunaan sensori pada panca indera karena gangguan neurologis yang dialami.
Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, respon arsitektural diwujudkan dengan Pusat Perkembangan dan Pendidikan Anak Autis dengan penerapan metode Evidence Based Design. Merupakan sebuah lingkungan inklusif bagi anak autis yang
fokus pada tata lingkungan sesuai dengan sensori anak autis, serta peningkatan interaksi antara orangtua dengan anak autis. Hal ini bertujuan agar rancangan dapat berperan sebagai katalisator perkembangan anak autis, serta memberikan edukasi terkait autis bagi keluarga. Dengan adanya rancangan ini, peran orangtua sebagai pembimbing anak autis dapat terbantu dengan mengenali kebutuhan lingkungan yang sesuai tanpa mengecualikan kebutuhan para orangtua.

Based on the records of the Unesco in 2011, there are 35 million people with autism around the world. In Indonesia the ratio is 8 out of every 1000 people. There is still a lot of parents who had difficult acceptance to their autistic child to the negative stigma around the community that having autistic child is a disgrace. Whereas the interaction between parents and children is the main thing to reach out the best development for autistic children, even to the stage that autism disorder is stated to recover.
Autistic child has special needs to live their daily lives. This must be fulfilled as their development process to be an independent person when facing the "outside world". Their developmental disorders closely related to their sensory sense in relation with their neurologic disorders.
Based on the phenomenon, the architectural response presented a Center of Development and Education for Autistic Children with Evidence-Based Design
method. An inclusive environment that focuses on the layout which adapted to autism sensory and increasing the interaction between parents and autistic child. It is aim to become the catalyst for the development of autistic children and giving the education related to autism for the families. The design works to help the parent’s role as a mentor of their autistic child by recognizing the needs of an appropriate environment without excluding the parent’s needs.
