Abstract
Penjagaan pintu keluar masuk Perpustakaan ITS yang masih dilakukan secara manual memiliki kelemahan, yaitu tidak dapat membedakan orang yang bermasalah (mempunyai tanggungan, belum bayar denda, dll). Untuk itu dibutuhkan Smart Gate yang bisa membedakan antara orang yang bermasalah dengan orang tidak bermasalah.
Sistem smart gate adalah sistem pintu otomatis yang membutuhkan proximity reader untuk mengidentifikasi kartu identitas atau smart card menggunakan alat berteknologi Near Field Communication (NFC). Teknologi Near Field Communication (NFC) merupakan pengembangan dari teknologi Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Metode pengerjaan tugas akhir ini menggunakan metode SDLC model waterfall, yaitu sebagai berikut: Studi Literatur, Analisis, Desain Sistem, Implementasi, Testing, Deployment dan Dokumentasi.
Hasil dari penelitian tugas akhir ini adalah sebuah purwarupa gerbang cerdas berbasis IoT yang menggabungkan sensor infra merah, raspberry pi, web service, solenoid, lcd display dan teknologi NFC. Sistem ini akan membantu petugas Perpustakaan ITS dalam meningkatkan layanan yang diberikan oleh ITS untuk keamanan dan pemantauan.

Guarding the entrance and exit of the ITS Library which is still done manually has a weakness, namely not being able to distinguish between problematic people (having dependents, unpaid fines, etc.). For this reason, Smart Gate is needed that can distinguish between people with problems and people without problems.
Smart gate system is an automatic door system that requires a proximity reader to identify an identity card or smart card using the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. Near Field Communication (NFC) technology is a development of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. This final assignment method uses the SDLC waterfall model method, which is as follows: Literature Study, Analysis, System Design, Implementation, Testing, Deployment and Documentation.
The results of this thesis research are an IoT-based smart gate prototype that combines infrared sensors, raspberry pi, web services, solenoids, LCD displays and NFC technology. This system will assist ITS Library officers in improving the services provided by ITS for security and monitoring.
