Abstract

Based on data from the Indonesian Motor Vehicle Industry Association , shows that car production and sales have increased every year. The usage of the conventional cars or internal combustion engines, has a lot of various impacts such as the increasing number of fuel consumption and the impact of the gas emissions that have the potential to cause air pollution. One of the efforts to overcome the impact of conventional car usage is starting to develop electric cars. The electric car itself has various advantages, such as having three to five times more energy efficiency than the conventional car. Also, it does not produce sound so it is considered to reduce noise pollution.
In this final project, research conducted modeling and analysis of the performance transmission of an electric car to determine the dynamic characteristics of the Toyota Calya. The vehicle is designed to use a 35 kW BLDC type electric motor with single speed transmission gearbox directly linked to the differential. Besides, it is necessary to pay attention to the drag force of the vehicle such as wind drag, rolling resistance, and upward drag. The analysis is done by simulating vehicles using the Matlab Simulink Software. The analysis was carried out using variations of the gear ratios obtained from the calculations are 1.95, 2.06, and 2.18 with a differential ratio of 4.84. After getting the correct gear ratio value for vehicles, variations in the input of
electric motor torque are 80 Nm, 100 Nm, 120 Nm, and 140 Nm. From each torque, it is simulated back on the road profile flat, incline and derivative.
From the research, it is found that the correct gear ratio value for the Calya electric car is ig = 1.95 and the differential ratio is id = 4.84. After the value simulation is carried out displacement, speed, acceleration, and output torque in vehicles passing through the profile the same path will increase as the input torque of the electric motor increases. Meanwhile, with the same input torque, the displacement value, speed, and the greatest acceleration is generated when passing the derivative path and the smallest value when passing the incline. The most suitable torque input for the Calya electric car is 140 Nm with an efficiency of 81.84%.
