Abstract
Azotobacter mampu mendegradasi bahan organik berupa
selulosa, hemiselulosa, lipid, dan protein. Azotobacter memiliki
enzim selulase, lipase, dan kaseinase. Azotobacter mampu
memproduksi hormon pertumbuhan IAA dan berperan sebagai
penambat N non simbiotik, pelarut fosfat dan kalium.

Blotong is a sugar factory waste that is needed from the sugar
refining process. Blotong waste from the sugar factory Pagotan,
Madiun Regency when it is ground, has a volume of 87 tons per
day. Blotong has a diverse and complicated organic composition
used as compost. Azotobacter is one ofthe bacteria that is able to
degrade organic compounds so that it can be used as a composter
agent. The potential of Azotobacter research as a blosting
composting agent through literature studies. Azotobacter is able to
degrade organic matter containing cellulose, hemicellulose, lipids,
and protein. Azotobacter has cellulase, lipase, and caseinase
enzymes. Azotobacter is able to produce IAA growth hormone and
supports it as a non-symbiotic N-fastening, phosphate and
potassium solvent.
