Abstract

Telah dilakukan sintesis doping katalis Mg1-xNixF2 (x=
0,025; 0,05; 0,10 dan 0,15 mol) pada penelitian ini dengan
metode sol-gel. Katalis dikarakterisasi struktur kristal dengan
difraksi sinar-X (XRD) dan ditentukan keasaman adsorpsi piridin- FTIR dengan metode adsorpsi nitrogen. Aktivitas katalis diuji
pada reaksi metilasi minyak kelapa sawit antara RPO (Refined
Palm Oil) dan metanol. Hasil XRD menunjukkan bahwa katalis
Mg1-xNixF2 berstruktur yang sama dengan database MgF2 yaitu
tetragonal. Katalis Mg1-xNixF2 memiliki asam Lewis dan asam
Brønsted dari spektra FTIR. Konversi asam palmitat dan asam
stearat oleh katalis MgF2 diperoleh masing-masing 0,33% dan
13,73%. Hasil terbaik dari uji katalitik diperoleh katalis
Mg0,85Ni0,15F2 dengan konversi terhadap asam palmitat dan asam
stearat masing-masing sebesar 4,51% dan 76,21%.

In this studied, Mg1-xNixF2 (x= 0; 0,025; 0,05; 0,10 dan
0,15 mol) catalysts were synthesized by a sol-gel technique. The
catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction and acidity was
determined by FTIR-pyridine adsorption analysis. The catalytic
behavior of the samples were tested by metilation reaction
between RPO (Refined Palm Oil) and methanol. The result of
XRD pattern showed that the structure of Mg1-xNixF2 match with
MgF2 tetragonal database. Mg1-xNixF2 catalysts have a Lewis and
Brønsted acid from FTIR spectra. Conversion of palmitate acid
and stearate acid by MgF2 catalyst are 0,33% and 13,73%
respectively. The best results of catalytic testing were obtained by
Mg0,85Ni0,15F2 catalyst with conversion of palmitate acid and
stearate acid are 4,51% and 76,21%, respectively.
