Abstract

Hasil perjanjian paris mengharuskan setiap negara untuk mengurangi polusi yang dibuat di negaranya, sehingga Indonesia sebagai penyumbang polusi udara terbesar wajib mengganti kendaraan bermotor bertenagakan minyak bumi menjadi kendaraan bermotor electric vehicle (EV) bertenagakan baterai. Indonesia memiliki cadangan nikel yang dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu katoda dari baterai Li-ion yang disebut dengan NMC. Pada penilitan ini, penulis menggunakan bijih ferronickel hasil proses smelting di mini blast furnace .Lalu ferronickel di proses leaching untuk menghasilkan nikel sulfat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengatahui pengaruh variasi waktu leaching (2 jam,4 jam, 6 jam, 8 jam, 10 jam) terhadap kadar ekstraksi, persentase ekstraksi, komposisi kimia, yield, dan senyawa yang dihasilkan. Pada proses leaching reagen pelarut yang digunakan adalah asam sulfat sehingga dihasilkan nikel sulfat. Pengujian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah AAS, EDX, dan XRD. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kandungan ekstrak nikel terbanyak dihasilkan pada variasi 10 jam sebanyak 11530 mg/L dengan peresentase ekstraksi 94,16%, besi terbanyak pada variasi 10 jam sebesar 4128 mg/L dengan persentase ekstraksi 100%, dan Kobalt terbanyak pada variasi 2 jam sebanyak 47,3 mg/L dengan persentase ekstraksi 100%. Untuk yield nikel tertinggi dihasilkan pada variasi konsentrasi waktu 10 jam sebesar 87,37%.Senyawa yang dihasilkan dari produk adalah NiSO4.6H2O, Na2SO4, CoSO4, dan FeSO4.

The Paris Agreement results require each country to reduce the country’s pollution, is obliged to replace petroleum-powered motorized vehicles with battery-powered electric vehicles (EVs). Indonesia has nickel reserves that can be used as one of the cathodes of a Li-ion battery called NMC. In this research, the author uses ferronickel ore from the smelting process in a mini blast furnace. Then ferronickel is leached to produce nickel sulfate. This research was conducted to determine the effect of variations in leaching time (2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, 10 hours) on the extraction rate, extraction percentage, chemical composition, yield, and the resulting compounds. In the leaching process, the solvent used is sulfuric acid to produce nickel sulfate. The tests used in this study were AAS, EDX, and XRD. The results of this study were the highest content of nickel extract was produced in 10 hours variation by 11530 mg/L with 94.16% presentation extraction, most iron in 10 hours variation by 4128 mg/L with 100% presentation extraction, and most cobalt in 2 hours variation by 47.3 mg/L with 100% presentation extraction. For the highest nickel yield was produced at a 10-hour concentration variation of 87.37%. The compound produced from the product are NiSO4.6H2O, Na2SO4, CoSO4, and FeSO4.
