Abstract

Fishing patterns on fishing vessels greatly affect the effectiveness of the amount of catch obtained and also the consumption of fuel used on 1 sailing trip. By making a sailing pattern by considering the aspect of fuel consumption, a more effective sailing pattern can be produced. The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to find the effect of fishing pattern on fuel consumption and create new patterns which are more efficient than regular fishing patterns. Historical data from the sailing pattern that has been collected for 2 months will be collected and then analysed so that the length of each sailing pattern is known, the duration of sailing, the catch, and the total fuel consumption. digital modeling of the fishing vessel into the software is carried out so that the total ship resistance can be found at the sailing speed. By paying attention to the influence of sea currents and wind & waves, a reduction in sailing speed will be carried out so that it can be matched with the total fuel consumption obtained in the observation data. Then based on historical data and calculations a new sailing pattern can be made which will then be analyzed the total fuel consumption. Sailing pattern A has a total distance of 27.24 km with the lowest fuel consumption of 13.84 liters and the highest fuel consumption reaching 16.04 liters. The sailing pattern B has a total distance of 25.78 km with the lowest fuel consumption of 12.29 liters and the highest fuel consumption reaching 14.17 liters. The sailing pattern C has a total distance of 27.86 km with the lowest fuel consumption of 13.12 liters and the highest fuel consumption reaching 15.20 liters. there sailing pattern D has a total distance of 23.8 km with the lowest fuel consumption of 11.6 liters and the highest fuel consumption reaching 13.34 liters.
