Abstract
Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pembuatan alat pengukuran frekuensi getaran dengan meng-gunakan metode optikal non-contact menggunakan serat optik Polymer Optical Fiber (POF). Metode yang digunakan jauh lebih murah dan juga lebih simpel dibandingkan dengan metode lainnya, baik dengan alat elektromagnetik seperti accelerometer dan metode optik lainnya. Sensor serat optik POF yang digunakan memanfaatkan pengukuran perubahan daya intensitas cahaya akibat perubahan jarak pada saat benda bergetar. Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan pengukuran pada frekuensi 1 Hz sampai 11 Hz, dan juga jarak antara ujung POF dengan medium getar antara 2 mm sampai 7 mm. Hasil dari penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan dari sensor serat optik POF dari jarak pengukuran yang diberikan. Dari hasil pengolahan menunjukkan bahwa pada jarak pengukuran 5 mm memiliki nilai ketidakpastian standar yang terendah. Sementara pada jarak pengukuran 2 mm memiliki nilai ketidakpastian regresi linier terendah. Dari rentang frekuensi yang diukur, didapatkan bahwa sensor serat optik POF mampu mendeteksi dengan jelas frekuensi getaran yang diberikan hanya sampai frekuensi 6 Hz.

This research builds a vibration frequency measurement device using a non-contact optical method that used Polymer Optical Fiber (POF) as a sensor. This method is much cheaper and much simpler than the other methods that already exist. The POF sensor take advantage of changing light intensity power because of changing of distance when the object vibrates. In this research, measurements were made at a frequency of 1 Hz to 11 Hz, and also the distance between the tip of the POF and the vibrating medium between 2 mm and 7 mm. This experiment assesses the performance of POF sensor to detect the given frequency with the variation of distance it was given. From the results of data processing shows that at a distance of 5 mm has the lowest standard uncertainty for measurements between 1 Hz to 11 Hz. Meanwhile, at a distance of 2 mm has the lowest linear regression for measurements between 1 Hz to 11 Hz. From the range of frequency measured, it was found that the POF fiber optic sensor was able to detect a given vibration frequency only up to a frequency of 6 Hz.
