Abstract

Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari banyak sekali komponen yang membutuhkan pengkondisian termal, sehingga dibutuhkan alat penukar panas (heat exchanger) sebagai pembantu mengkondisikan termal. Alat penukar panas sendiri memiliki banyak tipe, salah satunya adalah alat penukar panas tipe kompak (compact heat exchanger). Compact heat exchanger sangat banyak aplikasinya, terutama dalam bidang otomotif. Salah satu contoh yang mengaplikasikan compact heat exchanger dalam bidang otomotif adalah tim Anargya ITS pada mobil Mark 1.0 yang digunakan untuk menjaga agar komponen high voltage tidak terjadi overheat, untuk itu diperlukan perancangan sistem pendingin yang baik agar dapat mendisipasi panas berlebih yang dihasilkan oleh motor listrik serta menjaga temperatur kerja dari masing - masing komponen tersebut agar selalu beroperasi pada kondisi efisiensi maksimum.
Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan 2 metode yaitu metode yaitu metode analisa perpindahan panas pada compact heat exchanger sebagai dasar perancangan dan uji eksperimen dengan variasi debit dari fluida kerja dan fluida pendingin sebagai validasi untuk melihat performa dari heat exchanger yang telah dirancang. Dari hasil dari kedua metode tersebut akan dibandingkan guna mendapatkan desain radiator yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mobil mark 2.0 ITS sebagai pendingin komponen motor listrik yang digunakan dalam kompetisi Formula Society Automotive Engineer (FSAE) Japan 2021.
Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa beban maksimum pendinginan agar motor listrik bekerja secara optimal adalah sebesar 6250 Watt. Hasil yang didapatkan dari pengujian compact heat exchanger yang telah dirancang menunjukkan temperatur keluaran air sebesar 39,4°C dan laju perpindahan panas sebesar 5906,3 Watt dengan eror masing-masing sebesar 1,55% dan 5,5%. Untuk laju perpindahan panas maksimum terjadi pada kondisi debit air dan kecepatan udara maksimum dengan nilai sebesar 7522,2 Watt dan efektifitas sebesar 54,67%. Sedangkan untuk pressure drop maksimum terjadi pada saat kecepatan udara maksimum dengan nilai 120,746 Pa.

In everyday life, there are so many components that require thermal conditioning, so a heat exchanger is needed to assist in thermal conditioning. The heat exchanger itself has many types, one of which is a compact heat exchanger. There are many applications for compact heat exchangers, especially in the automotive sector. One example that applies a compact heat exchanger in the automotive sector is the Anargya ITS team on the Mark 1.0 car which is used to keep high voltage components from overheating, for this reason a good cooling system design is needed so that it can dissipate excess heat generated by electric motors and maintain the working temperature of each of these components in order to always operate at maximum efficiency conditions.
In this study, 2 methods were used, namely the method of heat transfer analysis in a compact heat exchanger as the basis for design and experimental tests with variations in the discharge of the working fluid and the cooling fluid as validation to see the performance of the heat exchanger that had been designed. From the results of the two methods will be compared in order to get a radiator design that suits the needs of the ITS Mark 2.0 car as a coolant for the electric motor components used in the Japan 2021 Formula Society Automotive Engineer (FSAE) competition.
From the results of research that has been done, it was found that the maximum cooling load so that the electric motor works optimally is 6250 Watts. By using the design of the compact heat exchanger surface 11.32-0.737-SR as in table 4.3, it produces a water output temperature of 39.4 ° C and a heat transfer rate of 5906.3 Watts with an error against the design of 1.55% and 5 respectively. , 5%. The maximum heat transfer rate occurs in conditions of maximum water discharge and air velocity with a value of 7522.2 Watt and an effectiveness of 54.67%. Meanwhile, the maximum pressure drop occurs at the maximum air velocity at value of 120.746 Pa.
