Abstract
Minyak kelapa sawit atau crude palm oil (CPO) menjadi salah
satu komoditas utama energi baru terbarukan (EBT) yang digunakan
Pertamina untuk mesubstitusi bahan bakar fosil dan menghasilkan energi
ramah lingkungan. Biodiesel merupakan bahan bakar alternatif
pengganti solar yang sangat potensial sebagai bahan bakar mesin diesel.
Biodiesel memiliki keunggulan yaitu angka setana yang tinggi.
Injektor merupakan komponen dari sistem injeksi bahan bakar
solar yang berfungsi untuk mengatomisasi bahan bakar. Tekanan injektor
yang tepat akan menghasilkan atomisasi bahan bakar yang lebih halus
sehingga dapat mendukung terjadinya pembakaran menjadi lebih baik.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh
tekanan injektor terhadap performa mesin diesel dengan menggunakan
bahan bakar B50 minyak kelapa sawit. Pengaturan tekanan dapat
dilakukan dengan menganti ketebalan shim injektor untuk menambah
atau mengurangi tekanan dari tekanan standar. Tekanan yang di coba
170 bar, 210 bar dan 250 bar. Mesin yang digunakan adalah mesin
generator set diesel tipe KW 26-08 yang berkode mesin KM 168 FA.
Pengujian menggunakan metode constant speed dimana mesin
dijalankan dengan putaran konstan, dan dilakukan variasi pembebanan
sampai didapatkan daya tertinggi.
Hasil percobaan diperoleh dari tiga variasi tekanan yang di uji
tersebut maka yang terbaik adalah tekanan standar 210 bar yaitu
didapatkan: Daya= 5,99953 kW, Torsi= 18,65 N.m, BMEP= 560,392
kPa, BSFC=0,3048 kg/kW.jam dan Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE)=
27,63%.

Palm oil or crude palm oil (CPO) is one of the main commodities
of new and renewable energy (EBT) used by Pertamina to substitute fossil
fuels and produce environmentally friendly energy. Biodiesel is an
alternative fuel to replace diesel with great potential as a diesel engine
fuel. Biodiesel has the advantage of a high cetane number.
The injector is a component of the diesel fuel injection system
which functions to atomize the fuel. The right injector pressure will result
in smoother fuel atomization so that it can support better combustion. This
study aims to determine how much influence the injector pressure has on
the performance of a diesel engine using B50 palm oil as fuel. Pressure
adjustment can be done by changing the thickness of the injector shim to
increase or decrease the pressure from the standard pressure. The
pressures tested are 170 bar, 210 bar and 250 bar. The engine used is a
diesel generator set type KW 26-08 engine coded KM 168 FA. The test
uses the constant speed method where the engine is run with constant
rotation, and loading variations are carried out until the highest power is
obtained.
The experimental results obtained from the three variations of
the pressure tested, the best is the standard pressure of 210 bar, namely:
Power = 5.99953 kW, Torque = 18.65 Nm, BMEP = 560,392 kPa, BSFC
= 0.3048 kg/kW. hours and Brake Thermal Efficiency (BTE) = 27.63%
