Abstract

Human needs are increasing over time which results in increased demand for electric energy. One of them occurs in the 20 kV voltage electricity distribution system owned by PT. PLN (Persero) UID Lampung which experienced an increase in electricity demand. This resulted in various problems such as power losses and voltage falls often occur in ULP Teluk Betung. Therefore, network reconfiguration is necessary along with recommendations for new channels that can be built to deal with the problem of power losses and voltage falls. In this final task, a 20 kV radial distribution network of ULP Teluk Betung will be reconfigured using Modified Particle Swarm Optimization method to reduce power losses on the distribution network. The power flow method used is the newton-rapshon method with the Matpower 7.1 plugin. Based on the results of the analysis, simulated conditions with peak load in 2020 obtained the lowest voltage of 0.95773 p.u and active power losses decreased by 24.8401%, while with the condition of simulation contingency of overload on P. Kilat obtained the lowest voltage of 0.95705 p.u and active power losses decreased by 36.7472%, and in the condition contingency of short circuit on P. Mega obtained the lowest voltage of 0.9616 p.u and active power losses decreased by 33.2623%. Compared to tabu search method MPSO method is more effective.
