Abstract

Boron Nitrida merupakan senyawa kimia yang terdiri dari atom boron dan nitrogen dalam jumlah yang sama dengan salah satu bentuk kristalnya heksagonal. Material dua dimensi (2D) boron nitride heksagonal (hBN) atau Boron Nitride Nanosheets (BNNSs) memiliki kemiripan struktur dengan alotrop dari grafit yaitu grafena. Namun, tetap terdapat perbedaan dengan grafena dimana 2D hBN murni memilki band gap yang jauh lebih besar dan bukan konduktor yang baik. Pada penelitian ini akan dipelajari bagaimana pengaruh pemanasan dan eksfoliasi larutan dalam pembentukan 2D serta sifat listrik dari material hBN. Eksfoliasi larutan dilakukan dengan menggunakan pelarut Isopropyl Alkohol (IPA). Pemanasan dilakukan dalam empat variasi yakni 650, 750, 850, dan 950oC. Analisis XRD menunjukkan semua sampel yang digunakan memiliki karakteristik 2D hBN. Analisis Raman menunjukkan proses eksfoliasi belum menunjukkan terbentuknya lapisan tunggal hBN. Hasil UV-Vis dan pengujian FPP menunjukkan bahwa sampel memiliki nilai energi celah-pita optik dan konduktivitas listrik pada rentang bahan semikonduktor.

Boron Nitride is a chemical compound consisting of equal amounts of boron and nitrogen atoms in a hexagonal crystal form. Two dimenisonal (2D) heksagonal boron nitride (hBN) or Boron Nitride Nanosheets (BNNSs) material has a similar structure to the allotrope of graphite, namely graphene. However, there are still differences with graphene where pure 2D hBN has a much larger band gap and is not a good conductor. This research studies how the effect of solution exfoliation and heating temperature on the formation and the electrical properties of hBN material, respectively. Solution exfoliation was carried out using Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) solvent. Heating was performed in four variations, namely 650, 750, 850, and 950oC. XRD analysis showed that all samples prepared had 2D hBN characteristics. The samples were analyzed using Raman spectroscopy and it is known that the exfoliation process has not succesfully produced a mono-layer of hBN. UV-Vis and FPP tests results showed that the samples had optical bandgap energy and electrical conductivity in the range of semiconductor materials.
