Abstract
Biodiesel merupakan bahan bakar terbarukan serta memiliki karakteristik yang sama dengan solar, kekurangan dari biodiesel memiliki temperatur titik nyala yang tinggi dibanding dengan solar. Biodiesel memiliki manfaat yang baik bagi penggunaan mesin seperti emisi yang rendah, dan meningkatkan pelumasan. Biodiesel yang dipergunakan adalah B50 yang terbuat dari campuran 50% minyak kelapa sawit (CPO) : 50% solar murni (Dexlite). Akan tetapi penggunaan bahan bakar biodiesel masih memiliki kekurangan dimana bahan bakar biodiesel menyebabkan pertumbuhan deposit yang banyak di area injektor.
Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian pengaruh penggunaan biodiesel terhadap komponen injektor yang diuji dengan run engine selama 200 jam lalu membandingkan kedua injektor dengan mengukur velocity injektor, spray angle, dan nilai Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) menggunakan software ImageJ. Setelah itu melakukan uji unjuk kerja dengan constant speed terhadap satu buah mesin diesel untuk diukur dan dibandingkan kinerjanya dengan menggunakan bahan bakar biodiesel B30 dan B50.
Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan bahan bakar B30 sesudah pengujian 200 jam pada beban 4000 W secara keseluruhan penggunaan B50 dibanding B30 mengalami penurunan performance, kecuali BSFC: Daya (-2,38 %); Torsi (-3,66 %); BMEP (-3,66 %); BSFC (+12,43 %); BTE (-35,42 %).

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel and has the same characteristics as diesel, the disadvantage of biodiesel is that it has a high flash point temperature compared to diesel. but biodiesel has good benefits for engine use such as lower emissions, and increased lubrication so that when the engine is running it will be better. The biodiesel used is B50 which is made from a mixture of 50% palm oil (CPO): 50% pure diesel (Dexlite) However, the use of biodiesel fuel still has drawbacks where biodiesel fuel causes large deposit growth in the injector area.
In this study, the effect of biodiesel use on injector components was tested by running the engine for 200 hours and then comparing the two injectors by measuring injector speed, spray angle, and SMD using ImageJ software. After that, a constant speed performance test was carried out on one of the diesel engines to measure and compare its performance using B30 and B50 biodiesel fuels.
From the research results obtained by using B30 fuel before testing 200 hours at a load of 4000 W overall the use of B50 compared to B30 experienced a decrease in performance, except BSFC: Power (-2,38 %); Torque (-3,66 %); BMEP (-3,66 %); BSFC (+12,43 %); BTE (-35,42 %).
