Abstract

Batu City is located in a mountainous area, so it has hilly areas with slopes and cliffs that have the potential of landslide. This study aims to find out potential landslide areas using the results of VLF-EM data analysis. The measurement was conducted in Brau, Gunungsari Village, Bumiaji District, Batu using 5 tracks. Measurement data (in-phase and quadrature) are still mixed with noise, so noise reduction is needed using the Noise Assisted-Multivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition (NA-MEMD) method. NA-MEMD result data was analyzed using Fraser and Karous-Hjelt filters to obtain qualitative interpretations of resistive and conductive anomalous distribution, while inversion of NA-MEMD result data was used to produce 2D resistivity values that served for subsurface quantitative interpretation. The cross-section of 2D resistivity is correlated with qualitative analysis result and field conditions that have occured in previous landslides. The correlation results showed that landslide-prone areas were characterized by conductive anomalies thought to be caused by excessive fluid saturation with resistivity values ±30 Ωm. These conductive anomalies are generally located at depths of ±15 m.
