Abstract

Masjid secara harfiah berasal dari bahasa Arab yang berasal dari kata sujudan dan
masjidun yang berarti tempat untuk bersujud atau tempat untuk shalat, sehingga masjid
mengandung pengertian tempat melaksanakan kewajiban bagi umat Islam untuk
melaksanakan shalat lima waktu yang diperintahkan Allah SWT.
Selain berfungsi sebagai tempat beribadah umat Islam dalam arti khusus
(mahdhah) ialah ibadah yang telah ditetapkan Allah SWT baik dalam tata cara dan
perincian-perinciannya (sifat, waktu dan tempat), masjid juga merupakan tempat untuk
memenuhi urusan dan kebutuhan yang bersifat duniawi (ghairu mahdhah) selama
dilakukan dalam batas-batas syari'ah. Saat ini banyak sekali masjid yang besar, indah dan
bersih, namun semua itu belum cukup apabila tidak ditunjang dengan kegiatan-kegiatan
yang memakmurkan masjid.
Masjid Agung Subulussalam merupakan masjid terbesar di Kota Subulussalam
dan baru saja diresmikan pada tahun 2019 lalu dan mampu menampung 3500 jemaah
didalamnya. Masjid yang luas dan besar ini memiliki 3 lantai pada bangunannya.
Keberadaan masjid ini sendiri diharapkan dapat menjadi simbol pemersatu, menjaga
ukhuwah Islamiah serta menjadi pusat pemberdayaan masyarakat.
Berdasarkan analisis dan metodologi yang telah dilakukan terhadap objek desain,
diperoleh konsep perancangan “Re-Desain Interior Masjid Agung Kota Subulussalam
Dengan Konsep Revitalisasi Fungsi Masjid Sebagai Sarana Pendidikan Kesenian Islam
Dan Dakwah Didukung Tema Modern Luxury Bernuansa Islami”. Dengan diterapkannya
desain ini, diharapkan dapat menghidupkan kembali fungsi dan peran masjid sebagai
pusat pembinaan dan pemberdayaan khususnya dalam bidang pendidikan kesenian islami
dan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan minat dan bakat generasi qur’ani yang
unggul, cerdas agamis dan berakhlakul karimah.

The mosque directly comes from Arabic, from the word prostration and mosque,
which means a place to prostrate or a place to pray, so the mosque contains the meaning
of a place for carrying out the obligation for Muslims to perform the five daily prayers
ordered by Allah SWT.
In addition to working as a place of worship for Muslims in a special sense
(mahdhah), namely worship that has been determined by Allah SWT both in the
procedures and details (nature, time, and place), the mosque is also a place to fulfill
worldly affairs and needs (ghairu mahdhah) as long as it is done within the limits of
shari'ah. Currently, there are many large, beautiful, and clean mosques, but all of that is
not enough if it is not supported by activities that make the mosque prosperous.
The Subulussalam Great Mosque is the largest in Subulussalam City It was just
inaugurated in 2019 and can accommodate 3500 congregations. This spacious and large
mosque has 3 floors in its building. The existence of this mosque itself is expected to
become a unifying symbol, maintain ukhuwah Islamiah, and become a center for
community empowerment.
Based on the analysis and methodology that has been carried out on the design
object, the design concept is obtained "Re-Design of the Great Mosque of Subulussalam
City with Function Revitalization Concept and Modern-Luxury with Islamic Theme As
a Facility of Islamic Arts Education". With the implementation of this design, it is hoped
that it can revive the function and role of the mosque as guidance and empowerment,
especially in the field of Islamic art education, and aims to develop the interests and
talents of the Qur'anic generation that are superior, religiously intelligent and have good
character.
