Abstract

Broiler farms are in dire need of monitoring their livestock. The large or small number of livestock can also affect the size of the profit. In broiler farming, the calculation of the number of chickens is generally obtained manually. However, the human factor has poor eyesight so that it can cause errors in calculations.
To solve the problem, a system is created that can calculate the number and tracking of chicken mortality through video recordings. This final project uses image processing with motion detection method to detect tracking and number of chickens. Then do the tracking of the chicken obtained from the movement of the chicken. The tracking process is carried out using the Euclidean Distance method and then giving a bounding box and labeling it with the chicken ID number. The process of calculating the number of chickens is obtained through the large number of bounding boxes that are read. Then the process of tracking mortality is obtained through the difference between the number of chickens during the filling period and the reading of the current number of chickens.
Testing is done by taking a video that is about 15 seconds long. The video was taken in a chicken coop containing 20 chickens. The test results show that this system has the highest accuracy rate of 86.67%, with the reading of the number of chickens in 1 cage can reach 15 birds, and the estimated number of chicken deaths detected is 5 chickens.
