Abstract

Shape memory alloy (SMA) merupakan logam paduan yang mana setelah mengalami deformasi dapat mengembalikan bentuknya seperti semula setelah dipanaskan pada temperatur tertentu. Shape memory alloy yang digunakan pada penelitian kali ini adalah paduan Cu-14,6Zn-7,41Al. Pada penelitian ini, paduan diberi perlakuan solution treatment pada tiga temperatur berbeda, yaitu 800°C, 850°C, dan 900°C. Selanjutnya paduan di-quench dengan dua metode berbeda, yaitu direct quenching dengan media oli dan step quenching dengan media oli bertemperatur 100°C selama 10 menit. Selanjutnya dianalisis terkait perlakuan tersebut terhadap struktur mikro, kekerasan, dan shape memory effect dari paduan Cu-14,6Zn-7,41Al. Didapatkan hasil bahwa spesimen SQ850 memiliki fasa twinned martensite yang paling banyak, dan adanya peningkatan ukuran butir seiring peningkatan temperatur solution treatment. Sementara kekerasan tertinggi dimiliki oleh spesimen DQ850 dengan nilai kekerasan sebesar 214,33 ± 2,08 HV. Untuk shape memory effect paling baik dimiliki oleh spesimen SQ850 dengan persentase recovery sebesar 100%.

Shape memory alloy (SMA) is an alloy which, after being deformed, can return to its original shape after being heated at a certain temperature. The shape memory alloy used in this study is Cu-14,6Zn-7,41Al alloy. In this research, the alloy is given solution treatment at three different temperatures, namely 800°C, 850°C, and 900°C. Furthermore, the alloy is quenched by two different methods, namely direct quenching with oil media and step quenching with oil media at 100°C for 10 minutes. Furthermore, it was analyzed related to the treatment on the microstructure, hardness, and shape memory effect of the Cu-14,6Zn-7,41Al alloy. The results showed that the SQ850 specimen had the most twinned martensite phase, and an increase in grain size with increasing solution treatment temperature. While the highest hardness is owned by specimen DQ850 with a hardness value of 214.33 ± 2.08 HV. For shape memory effect, the best specimen is SQ850 with a recovery percentage of 100%.
