Abstract

Permasalahan yang diangkat dalam tugas akhir ini dilatar belakangi oleh suatu perusahaan, PT. Semen Indonesia Logistik, yang bergerak dalam bidang perdagangan barang industri dan fabrikasi, mengembangkan sistem transport dalam industri batu bara yang menginginkan suatu mesin yang disebut reclaim feeder menggunakan sistem kerja chain conveyor yang akan digunakan untuk mentransfer batu bara dari stock pile menuju belt conveyor dengan kapasitas 1500 ton per jam yang akan dimodifikasi menjadi 2000 ton per jam dan analisa terhadap kekuatan rantai pada bagian chain scraper mesin reclaim feeder dengan kapasitas 2000 ton per jam.
Oleh karena itu, penulis bertujuan untuk merancang suatu sistem konveyor yang dapat memenuhi permintaan perusahaan tersebut, terutama pada bagian chain scraper mesin reclaim feeder. Dasar perancangan konveyor menggunakan standard Renold Catalogue ,dan dalam melakukan analisa kekuatan tegangan berdasarkan salah satu teori kegagalan, Distortion Energy Theory, yaitu evaluasi terhadap tegangan yang terjadi (service stress) pada rantai reclaim feeder.
Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu berupa besar nilai gaya tarikan rantai berdasarkan beban yang diangkut sebesar 173.656,86 N, dan tegangan total equivalent von mises stress 2,7396 MPa berdasarkan perhitungan teoritis dan 2,96 MPa berdasarkan hasil simulasi software yang dibandingkan dengan besar nilai tegangan ijin material 250 MPa, berdasarkan hasil perhitungan DET dan simulasi software tersebut maka dapat di simpulkan bahwa komponen long pin pada chain scraper sangat kuat untuk menerima pembebanan dan tegangan yang terjadi.

The problem raised in this final project is motivated by a company, PT. Semen Indonesia Logistik, which is engaged in trading of industrial goods and fabrications, has developed a transport system in the coal industry that wants a machine called a reclaim feeder using a chain conveyor that will be used to transfer coal from the stock pile to a belt conveyor with a capacity of 1500 tons per hour which will be modified to 2000 tons per hour and analysis of the strength of the chain on the chain scraper machine reclaim feeder with a capacity of 2000 tons per hour.
Therefore, the author aims to design a conveyor system that can meet the company's demands, especially in the chain scraper machine reclaim feeder. The basic design of the conveyor uses the Renold Catalog, and in analyzing the stress strength based on one of the failure theories, Distortion Energy Theory, which is an evaluation of the stress that occurs (service stress) in the reclaim feeder.
The results obtained are in the form of the value of the chain pulling force based on the transported load of 173.656.86 N, and the total stress equivalent to von Mises stress 2.7396 MPa based on theoretical calculations and 2.96 MPa based on software simulation results compared to the allowable stress value. 250 MPa material, based on the results of DET calculations and software simulations, it can be concluded that the long pin component of the chain scraper is very strong to accept the loads and stresses that occur.
