Abstract

Memastikan on-shelf availability (OSA) yang tinggi, atau menghindarkan
terjadinya out of stock (OOS) adalah penting untuk para retailer. Ini merupakan
salah satu pengukuran kinerja retailer dan faktor kunci untuk memuaskan
konsumen. Karena hal tersebut bisa menyebabkan kehilangan penjualan dan
menurunkan loyalitas konsumen. Istilah out-of-stock digunakan untuk
menggambarkan situasi saat konsumen tidak dapat menemukan produk di rak toko
pada saat konsumen akan membelinya. Tesis ini menggunakan pendekatan
penelitian tindakan (action research) untuk meningkatkan OSA di sebuah jaringan
toko ritel di wilayah Jakarta dan sekitarnya. Tahapan-tahapannya terdiri dari
pengukuran OSA saat sebelum perbaikan, mengidentifikasi akar masalah,
brainstorming untuk melakukan tindakan perbaikan, implementasi tindakan
perbaikan, dan pengukuran hasil setelah tindakan. Penelitian tindakan ini
melibatkan tim lintas fungsi yang terdiri dari bagian penjualan, bagian supply chain,
dan bagian komersial. Tim lintas fungsi bekerja sistematis untuk mengeksekusi
setiap tugas dan kegiatan yang telah direncanakan dan menghasilkan aksi perbaikan
yang signifikan dalam peningkatan ketersediaan barang di sepuluh (10) toko
penelitian di Jabodetabek. Hasil dari pekerjaan ini menurunkan out of stock (OOS)
dari asalnya 20,3% menjadi antara 3,6% sampai 4,6% dan juga menghasilkan cara
kerja baru yang efektif dalam rangka menjaga kinerja dari OSA yang telah
diperbaiki, dan diharapkan akan memberikan penjualan yang lebih baik untuk
perusahaan.

Ensuring high on-shelf availability (OSA), or avoiding out of stock (OOS)
is important for retailers. This is one of the retailer's performance measurements
and a key factor to satisfy consumers. Because it can cause lost sales and reduce
customer loyalty. The term out-of-stock is used to describe a situation when a
consumer cannot find a product on a store shelf when the consumer is about to buy
it. This thesis uses an action research approach to improve OSA in a chain of retail
stores in Jakarta and surrounding areas. The stages consist of measuring OSA
before repair, identifying the root of the problem, brainstorming to take corrective
action, implementing corrective action, and measuring results after action. This
action research involved a cross-functional team consisting of sales, supply chain,
and commercial division. The cross-functional team worked systematically to
execute every task and activity that had been planned and resulted in significant
corrective actions in increasing the availability of goods in ten (10) stores. research
in Jabodetabek. The results of this work reduce the out of stock (OOS) from 20.3%
to between 3.6% to 4.6% and also create new effective ways of working in order to
maintain the performance of the improved OSA, which is expected to provide better
sales for the company.
