Abstract

Terminal Pasar Bawah merupakan sebuah lorong yang semula difungsikan sebagai terminal angkot, namun dengan adanya relokasi PKL, aktivitas transit harus dilakukan berdampingan dengan aktivitas perdagangan. Namun, PKL yang lambat laun mendominasi tempat tersebut menyebabkan aktivitas angkot harus dilakukan diluar lorong karena ruang yang tidak mencukupi. Dengan kondisi lorong yang tersembunyi serta bangunan yang sudah menua dan gelap, menyebabkan pengunjung kurang tertarik untuk mengunjungi tempat tersebut, ditambah angkot yang tidak lagi beroperasi di dalam lorong. Akibatnya, omzet pedagang yang berjualan semakin menurun.
Perancangan dilakukan dengan berfokus pada bagaimana konfigurasi spasial di dalam bangunan serta bagaimana menarik lebih banyak orang untuk mengunjungi lorong dengan membuka lebih banyak akses dan fleksibilitas sirkulasi untuk dapat berintegrasi dengan fungsi transit sehingga aktivitas perdagangan dan transit dapat berdampingan kembali seperti semula. Selain itu, penataan kios juga dilakukan untuk memberikan kesempatan pedagang mengembangkan kiosnya sehingga ekonomi pedagang dapat lebih berkembang.
Dengan menggunakan pendekatan sense of place, menghasilkan rancangan untuk meningkatkan kualitas tempat dengan mempertimbangkan peningkatan kualitas seting fisik, aktivitas serta image Terminal Pasar Bawah menjadi lebih baik.

Terminal Pasar Bawah is an alley that was originally functioned as an angkot terminal, but with the relocation of PKL, transit activities must be carried outside by side with trading and market activities. However, PKL which gradually dominates the place caused angkot transit activities must be done outside due to insufficient space. The condition of the alley is hidden inside the old and dark building, which causes visitors to be less interested in visiting the place. It’s worsened by the angkot that no longer operates in the hallway. As a result, the merchant income is decreasing from time to time.
The design is carried out by focusing on spatial setting and configuration to attract more people to visit Terminal Pasar Bawah. It will be done by opening more access and circulation flexibility to be able to integrate with transit function so that trading and transit activities can coexist together. Arrangement of kiosks is also carried out to provide opportunities for the people to develop their kiosks so that economy can be more developed.
By using the sense of place approach, the design will improve the quality of the place by considering improving the quality of physical settings, activities, and image of Terminal Pasar Bawah to be a better place.
