Abstract

Company X is a distribution company of one of the largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in Indonesia. Its daily operation includes receiving consumer goods from manufacturers and distributing them to customers constantly six days a week. Of all the delivery activities, some would be delivered on schedule, and some would be postponed to the next day. These postponed deliveries are undesirable outcomes. In terms of system safety, this outcome should be minimised to ensure systems are resulting in desirable outcomes. A model of the system could be constructed to understand how the system works properly and identify possible performance variability using the Functional Resonance Analysis Method (FRAM). Following the found critical point of performance variability, assessment using Resilience Analysis Grid (RAG) is used to measure function performer’s potential resilience in doing an activity to keep the operation successful in any given condition and minimise undesirable outcomes. The result of the FRAM model is that there is possible performance variability found in functions of items placement to the rack, picking items, and delivery process, with two functions that could be analysed further using the RAG method. The result is the score of 3,50 of the ability to respond, 2,84 of the ability to monitor, 3,88 of the ability to learn, and 3,21 of the ability to anticipate. Based on the score of the aspects of resiliency, recommendations given are the flexible working hours and introduction of the daily self-assessment, so the ability to be resilient could be increased.
